The number one motivation that I can give people is to strive to develop a lifestyle that supports good long term health. You do not want to live a long life full of aches and pains and disability, having your only social life be going to the next doctor or to the pharmacy to pick up meds. Motivation only lasts so long, especially if you have a fair amount to lose. What does last is HABIT AND Life style change. You can do it.

One thing I have done to motivate myself is a cash award every time I hit a certain goal. If I eat less than 1000 calories I put a $ in the kitty. If I eat 1200 calories or less, I only reward myself 50 cents. Because I am only 5 foot, I have to eat in that range in order to lose weight. Your goal would be different depending on how tall you are. It's a win-win reward, and then you can spend the money on the new clothes you will need to buy as you shrink!

Oh wow! I wasn’t expecting so much support! I am working on following you all back, apparently you have to wait 5 or so minutes before adding more than 1 person. Thank you all so much & am so excited for this journey. It’s been too long coming

We are here, your Fat Secret Family! Remember we are not in a contest or a race.. slow and steady.. progress not perfection.. if the scale is not moving towards the direction you wanted it to go, look for non-scale victories, because not everything is measured and determined by the scale. Good luck! Remember YOU ARE STRONG! YOU GOT THIS! 💪

Remember that you have just joined a journey, try to make it pleasurable! With small adjustments you'll see miracles!

I'm new here too, but you have my support! 😁 Even low & slow will win the race! 🏆and you'll be healthier for it, too.

Start by logging everything you put in your mouth. It's an eye-opening experience. You will probably find you've been under estimating the amount of food you've been eating. That was my experience anyway. I started out right about where you are now. It's a marathon, not a sprint, but it's completely do-able! You'll be so glad you finally did it!
