Eeeek I weigh about 2 pound more this morning than I did yesterday! I know I didn't over indulge, but I do think I've the reason!

For dinner yesterday I had a tin of tuna, and made some tuna mayo! It's just dawned on me, the tuna was in sunflower oil, although I obviously drained the oil, the 'poison' was still there. How stupid can I be? You've got to be on your guard with every morsel you put in your mouth.

This brand of tuna is normally a cupboard staple that I buy, as in the past we've been told sunflower is good! Thinking about this, I've memories that this has happened before, except this time I am now better educated!

They don't call these oils 'PUFA' for nothing, as I certainly got puffed up! :-)

Your 2lbs is probably water retention, you need to eat around 3000 calories to put on a lb of fat I believe.

Yes I think it is, and my thoughts is that it is inflammation, my body having a hard time with the processed oil. If I thought it was fat, think I'd really freak out! :)

Or...the plumbing could be backed up. Happens to me and is so frustrating. Get your system back in whack and you'll be fine. Oh, note, ocean fishes are high in sodium. Good for you but bad for water retention.

I think you're right about that, processed usually means poison!

For "plumbing problems" try flaxmeal foccacia. Recipe on about.com/lowcarb

You'll probably find that the poison was the Mayonnaise. After Sugar in my brew's, Mayo was completely culled, made a big difference. Sunflower isnt too bad

I find that weighing every day can be misleading, I don't think it was what you ate I think your body retains water and sometimes this can show a gain :( try not to weigh everyday :) good luck

If I were you I would reduce fat consumption. If I refer to your calorie and macro-nutrient goals [1500 kcal Daily Calorie Intake, 40g Carbohydrates (11%, 160 kcal), 80 g Protein (21%, 320 kcal), 113g Fat (68%, 1020 kcal)], I would suggest aiming for 90 grams of fat and 130 grams of protein. :) keep it up!

Thanks everyone for your kind help! It's great to get support. MrsBugGirl - action to get the plumbing in order has been instigate. You could very well be right! Repsom92 - thanks for the heads up re flax meal foccacia, going to investigate this! C67241 - no difference in weight today, I'm cool though :) Pompski - I use homemade Mayo, the oil oil is 100% extra virgin olive oil. Thanks Christine, it's so tempting to weigh everyday, but you're so right! Saaywar - Thanks for your advice, I am trying to find my levels. Carbs I need to keep low, and I know protein for me is a problem. A few years ago I stuck religiously to Atkins for about 9 months, I did lose, but it was so slow, about half pound a week! Thanks again everyone, the Best of Luck!
