I like them plain, but add a little lemon juice to the water I'm steaming them with. As far as mayo, I swap it out with NF greek yogurt for pretty much everything. If you want to get fancy, strain the greek yogurt overnight to the consistence of cream cheese and treat it like a spread, adding whatever flavors you're going for.

Fried artichokes are a Roman delicacy, but they’re also great braised in stock and vermouth. Lots of great recipes to try, but yes, they’re often served with aioli on the side.

Grew up eating them and still do! Run under water to clean, Cut off all points on leaves and cut stem. Boil in large pot about 1 hr or so. Can stick fork in middle to be sure it is soft. Dish up in bowl and dip leaves in melted butter , only eat top part of leaves. To cut up the heart, best to find video on youtube maybe. This is the yummiest part!

I cut the tips of the leaves. Bang them on a counter to open the leaves. Stuff the with breadcrumb mixed with Parmesan cheese, olive oil, garlic and parsley. Place them in a large pot with 1 to 2 inches or water and steam until leaves are tender.

I’ve never cooked one, but pickled artichoke hearts are my jam! They go great on a salad or sandwich and are a great healthy pizza topping

Besides GOOGLE, YouTube iS a great resource in the education and DIY world. Try searching “how to prepare artichokes “ and I bet you will find lots of resources.

Thanks for these great ideas! I realize that I could have (and will!) research this on my own...but I wanted to give folks an opportunity to share their favorite ways to prepare 💙💕

Chrystal, it’s the wrong time of year to get you a picture, but people here grow them as decorative landscape. Kinda cool.
