Yesterday was sweeeeet! I drove GoodMan in to Grand Rapids to teach his Monday night class at the university campus and just as it was time to drop him off Grandson#1 got out of class in the next building so I took him out to dinner (NOTHING GOOD FOR YOU COMES OUT OF STEAK N SHAKE) - wow that boy can eat! Then I took him to Sam's Club and bought him some groceries to stock up his bare cupboards. He was very thankful...talked about wanting to get to the point in his life where he can "pay it forward"...he also mentioned he hopes he doesn't have as many grandkids as I do (16) because he can't imagine helping so many! He is a good kid and at 19-years old he has a good head on his shoulders.

I finally returned the exercise bike I bought at Sears in mid August. At first I was really impressed with how easy the return process was (I thought I might have a fight on my hands) - but then the guy let it slip that he knew BEFOREHAND that it didn't work! GRRRR...I left there irritated after telling him how difficult it was to get someone to help get it out of my car, set it up in my house, find out it didn't work, drive over an hour back to Sears to get the parts they forgot to give me, drive all the way back and find out it STILL didn't work, then have to get someone to help me pack it back in my car and haul it all the way back again!!!! I had planned to put my old exercise bike on Craigslist, but since the other one didn't work I've started using my old one and I think I'll make do without knowing how many miles I've ridden or calories burned...just a timer to tell how long I ride.

While I was at the mall I went to Lane Bryant to try and find an adjustable belt. My pants are all getting too big in the waist (YEA!) I've decided to wear a belt for the time being, and not buy new clothes right away. I'm thinking I'll take my biggest clothes to the consignment store and when/if I get money for those I'll buy some "recycled" clothes at least until I go down a couple of sizes. I don't want to invest in a bunch of clothes that hopefully will not fit for very long. I found a good belt and I bought 3 nightgowns on clearance. I have been wearing size 20 pants and I've been in 2X tops. The belt I bought is on the small side, but wearable and it is a size 14/16. I planned to put the nightgowns away as a treat for making my "down-under 230" goal. I bought size 14/16. I tried one on last night and it fits like my 18/20's did when I started this process (snug, but wearable). I told GoodMan I was going to wait to wear them until I lost another 4 1/2 pounds and logical thinker that he is, he says "Why? You can fit into them now, you won't get as much use out of them if you wait." ...I have never been good about delayed gratification...

One more mouse down yesterday...and no "evidence" of mice around overnight. Perhaps one day we will win the war on woodland creatures attempting residence in the log cabin. I fear it will be a continuing battle.
