Monday update - lost 4 pounds last week. Good start but I know I can't keep losing at that rate.
A good Buddy sent me a nice PM about our "commitment issues". So true for me. Finding the will to commit for life - I know everybody has to find their own source of inspiration. Would love to hear from all of where you find your strength.

I think a lot of people have gotten this right. Inspiration to stick with a healthy way of eating often comes with a desire to be healthy so we are better able to do the things that are important to us in our lives. For me, I just got started with my oil painting about 2 years ago. I want to paint for as long as possible. Being as healthy as possible will help me achieve that goal. It also makes it easier for me to focus on just eating good food that makes me feel good (physically not emotionally!). The scale is a measure, but not the most important one.

I used to do a lot of hiking, back-packing, bicycling, etc when I was younger. Finding I was too out of shape to do the things I loved was a real kick in the ass after getting out of a decade long abusive and controlling relationship. Being able to get back to doing those things is my inspiration.
