I finally tried out my Veggetti last night. I bought the thing a couple of months ago on a whim. It was at the checkout counter and it just ended up in my cart. Its been sitting on my kitchen counter in the "gadget corner" ever since.

So, as I said, I decided to try it out. Mind you, I went into this experiment with low expectations. I really love squash of all types. Particularly zucchini and summer yellow squash. However, we've all been down that "it tastes just like the original ..." road before. Like Boca Burgers, I enjoy eating them, but they don't taste like hamburgers, they taste like a good veggie burger.

So I was completely surprised by the ease of use of this device, the speed at which I can cook the noodles, and most of all, the fact that it truly tastes like pasta noodles.

Just like the TV commercials show, you stick the zucchini into the end of the gadget and turn. Noodles stream out. Just cut them off every now and then to get the length of noodle you like. When you're done, pop the noodles into a microwave in a bowl for 2 minutes. Drain and serve.

I put a 1/2 cup of reasonably low carb canned pasta sauce and some cooked ground turkey over the noodles. It was really tasty and, as I said, tasted just like pasta noodles. I'll definitely keep this thing handy and I'll be using it on a regular basis.

I hope all y'all have a great week. I hope that you make great progress toward your goals. Remember to enjoy your life. We only pass through here once, and we need to make the most of the time we have.

My family loves spaghetti, so I spend a lot of time slicing up zucchini noodles by hand for myself. I love the zucchini noodles in place of the spaghetti, but I find myself considering not making them because of how time consuming it is. I've got to get one of these! Thank you!

What is the name of that machine, I definitely need that. I was always afraid to taste the zucchini spaghetti, and I guess I might as well give it a try. As I do miss pasta. Your meal sounds scrumptious!

It's actually called a Veggetti. They are available on-line or at Wal-Mart.

Does it work for anything besides soft squash?

wholefoodnut, I have only used it for squash. However, a quick check on-line and I found recipes for Jicama Fries, Rutabaga Chips, Sweet Potato Noodle Sandwich Buns, & Rice made from Plantains. All of these were made with a Veggetti (you can find recipes under the generic term "sprializer" as well. I'm definitely going to try out the Jicama Fries. I may also use my slicer and try them as chips, as well.

I bought one several weeks ago and have yet to take it out of the package. I must remedy that soon. Thanks for the glowing report and for reminding me!
