So today in the office we celebrated a coworker getting married. I vowed that I would not eat any of the food and that if anything, I would have a piece of cake.
So I was sitting there with a smorgasboard of food in front of me: pizza from Lou Malnati's, bagels, brownie bites, mini lemon poppy muffins, chips with salsa, and cake. I had eaten my protein bar not too long ago so I would be full and not want any of it. I was sooo strong! I stuck to having just a piece of cake. That piece of cake may have been more than I usually ate otherwise. But the old me would have indulged on 2 pieces of pizza, a bagel, some of that poppy seed muffin, and maybe 2 pieces of cake.
So I felt good about today. I almost lost my willpower at the end of the day when that cake was still sitting there waiting to be eaten. But I thought about kenpo x with cake on my stomach as well as how much of my previous effort I would have wasted by eating another 260 calories.
So I give myself a pat on the back!
