A rough day today, though it started out well enough. I went to a kick-butt Zumba class with two instructors, my 5th one this week. I met friends for a quick lunch.

Then I got a text; my partner's brother, who's in home hospice for prostate cancer, is going down quickly, might not live through the day. Their mother will be 94 soon, and is fading too, though not as quickly. Family is gathering from all over, and my partner has been out to the farm twice today, tonight to make sure mom gets to bed. She's been falling asleep in a chair on the way to the bedroom, and has been getting terrible swelling in her lower legs.

We went to See's yesterday, and bought a bunch of their Easter candy on clearance. I've mostly resisted it. My partner dove in after rushing home to get some work done. I ate the last of my healthier mounds bars, and some of my healthier mints I made. I really have to stop making that stuff!

It has been an incredibly emotional day. This impending death reminded me of when my Dad died of cancer, gently, in good hospice, with the love of his life at his side. My heart hurts for my partner and the whole family.

Tomorrow is our 15th anniversary, and have planned a trip to the coast. That's kind of in limbo right now.

Fat Secret hasn't let me report for either of my challenges; I keep getting error messages. pshaw!

Excuse me if I have a bucket of Healthy Pop Kettle Corn for dinner. Sigh

I'm so sorry to hear of your issues. It's very difficult to 'diet' at times like these. Hope you can celebrate your anniversary at a different time. Happy Anniversary anyway. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks, my friends. We will go to the coast tomorrow, knowing we may need to return early. There may be a cloud over our day, but we will celebrate our anniversary, and it will be good to see and smell and hear the ocean, walk on the sand, have lunch at Tidal Raves...

My partner's brother passed away at 6 am, this morning, May 3. No trip to the coast, but we did exchange cards; our anniversary celebration will be on hold for a a while. As it shoulld be.

Life really sucks sometimes and this seems to be your time Crabby. So sorry for your loss. Anniversary celebrations can happen at any time and you'll do it later and enjoy it. Stay strong .

Ahh..yes, it sounds like a difficult time for your partner and you, too. Hang in there and remember, you do not need to eat your feelings. You can do something else constructive to work through them. It is hard, but I know you have learned what to do to stay healthy. {{HUGS}}}
