TXSnowman's Journal, 17 Mar 14

Well yesterday was a mental health reset day for me. Got up early and worked from home for about 4 hours. Then my wife, my granddaughter and I headed to town for some shopping and went to our favorite bbq shack for some smoked beef brisket, pork ribs & cheddar jalepeno smoked sausage. We took it to the park and had a very nice picnic and played on the playground for a good long while in the cool, windy, but sunny weather.

Then we headed back home with the groceries and relaxed for the rest of the evening. Munching on "not too horrible" treats throughout the evening. Did absolutely no exercise yesterday and turned in early for a solid 8 hours of sleep. Rose later than usual this morning so the dogs and I only went a little less than 7 miles on our walk, but it was fun and I feel completely re-charged.

I plan to eat very conservatively this week, to make sure that I stay on the lower end of my self-imposed weight range. I've been maintaining between 190 & 200 since January 1st, now I'm shooting to stay below 195 through the middle of April and try to be at or slightly below 190 at that time. That would prime me for the Spring push into full training mode. That's the plan anyway, and as we all know, "Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail"!

I hope Y'all have a wonderful week and live life to the fullest. Remember to hug your loved ones, laugh every day, & be thankful for the blessings that we all enjoy!

30 days to go! (not that I'm counting or anything...lol)

You're doing incredibly well under all the work stress you've been under. Only 30 days "and the living is easy"...or easier anyway. Just think how great you'll feel compared to last time this year. YOO HOO!

Thanks egdw. You're absolutely right. Every morning, when I'm out running the dogs, I think about all the years where I convinced myself that I didn't have the time to exercise, especially during tax season. But its really a matter of priorities. Where there's a will, there's a way. This year, I've done more exercise during the first two months of busy season, than I generally do in year. And I do feel GREAT! Thanks again for your kind thoughts.
