Fritzy 22's Journal, 17 Feb 21

I thought I did good yesterday as far as what I ate. But I noticed as I longed the half peanut butter sandwich for dinner (yes, that is dinner for me!) that the fat grams for the day was about 80. The goal is 20 grams or close. But I had a salad for lunch with avocado, sunflower seeds, shredded cheese and low fat ranch. So it added up. I didn't think it would matter, but shortly after eating the sandwich, around 4pm I had a gallbladder attack. Luckily it only lasted about 30 minutes, but it still was horrible. The strangest thing is, I was actually looking up the phone number for the specialist to reschedule Thursday's appointment when the pain started. Needless to say, I'm keeping the appointment!

Oh Fritzy, that must have been disturbing. 😒 I read someehere, by some fitness guy, that you should consider peanut butter as a fat and not a protein. Sure hope your doctor can help with ending any future attacks. Stay well. ❤

Thanks Ccandco - I had Jif peanut butter - I think it was 16 grams of fat in tablespoons. Really high in fat when I am supposed to be eating a low fat diet. I was careful about only 2 tablespoons. I guess it's a cummulative thing with the fat. I usually don't have problems - I've had plenty of potato chips, pizza, burgers and fries with no problem. I think I will have to have the gallbladder removed. The pain is so bad when it happens that I wonder if I should go to the hospital.

I've known a few people who have had bad attacks and had emergency surgery. Hopefully your doctor will be able to offer you some solutions and options. Going through pain is so stressful.

Ccandco - I talked to the gastroenterologist and he told me I should go see the surgeon. He said the gallstones are in my gallbladder and not going to go away and it sounds like it is getting to the point where anything can set it off. So I'll call the surgeon next week.

Well, at least you know it's going to be taken care of. Hopefully you can get a surgery date sooner rather than later. ❤
