It's one of those days. I'm tired, and just feeling sluggish. Someone brought donuts into the office and I indulged in one, but that will be my only indulgence for the day, now only good foods. I'll do my workout this evening too, and at least that will help combat that donut a little. I'm just feeling weak today and like I need about a day of sleep, maybe it's a cold coming on or something. I'm not going to let one donut ruin my day or my week though, I'm going to keep moving forward. Last night I was really hungry too. My stomach was growling from the time I left work to the time I went to bed and I ate a little more than my RDI. I'm wondering if my body is just adjusting to burning some calories with the workouts, it's finally realizing I'm not just being a slug on the couch any more. :)

It's possible. Sometimes we just need to listen to our bodies. Maybe you need more protein and fiber at night so you feel fuller longer or start having a light snack before bed. If you are feeling sluggish maybe do a lighter workout that yesterday to help energize, but not overdue it, just in case it is a cold. I just got over a cold I hope I didn't send you the virus LOL!

Hmmm, sounds like you need sleep more than that donut! LOL! You reminded me when I opened the door to the office this morning, it hit me....I WANT COFFEE!!! I could SMELL IT! Not really, but my mind was trying to be helpful! LOL. I went with a Spark instead (Advocare energy)- warm with pumpkin seasoning on top. With watermelon flavor, that does take a little getting used to. ;) When your stomach is growling, drink water. Not crazy amounts, but try that. Sometimes (and this is going to sound really weird, but I've done this and it seemed to work) just pretend you are chewing, like chewing gum, basically just go through the motions. Saliva will build up, which is crazy to me. But I've found that maneuver will work when you're hungry. Hope you feel better soon!

Nothing wrong with a donut, but nothing makes me feel more blah and sluggish than a bunch of empty carbs. You're rocking this Mars :-)

Kathy, I was just thinking about the protein. I had a decent amount of fiber last night, but our dinner was lacking protein, so I need to watch that. Mighty, I'm drinking more water, so that shouldn't be the problem, and I'm sleeping at least 7-8 hours, but I still know I didn't need that donut. :) Maybe chewing a piece of gum in the evening will help, I'll have to give it a try. Yo, I agree, I can tell the difference from eating my usual healthy foods to the empty carbs. Hopefully, with all the words of encouragement and tips I'll stay on track. Thanks!! :)

Next time try cutting the donut in half and only taking the small half. That way you only get half the calories and a taste of the donut. Most of the time the taste will satisfy you but because you have the whole thing at your desk you feel obligated to eat the whole thing.
