Annabelle3117's Journal, 11 Jan 14

Good Morning everyone!!

I'm feeling more peaceful than usual this morning, a welcome relief from the usual anxiety. (maybe because I now know I'm a size 16?!!) Not a lot on the agenda; planning on starting my first run of week 2 today. (it's a nine week program) I was SHOCKED yesterday when my run was almost easy. I knew I would get better, I just didn't know that I would see improvement so quickly. It's a good thing though, how long could anyone stick with it if it stayed that hard for weeks? Week two takes the intervals from sixty to ninety seconds, hopefully it won't be too hard of an adjustment! My friend ran with me for her first time yesterday. She is lighter than me, but she struggled to keep up and on average was about twenty feet behind me. (I would always let her catch up after the interval though, I'm not mean lol) It was a mighty good feeling. She thinks I'm a nut job for wanting to run a 5k, but she decided to do it with me so who's really the crazy one lol.

Increased my calories yesterday, and the scale went down today. It's a new theory I'm incorporating into my little plan... I guess it would be called a plan, an evil plan perhaps? Conspiring against fat cells! Anyway... lol I'm on the straight and narrow with my weight loss, Lower intake & increase output, botta bing botta boom Weight loss! My RDI is around 2400. (at least that's what they tell me) I try to keep my intake around fourteen hundred, pay a lot of attention to carbs and proteins. However, inevitably my weight loss will slow down, regardless of how deep the deficits I create are. I noticed, however, that after weekends where I increased my caloric intake I would end up with a better loss on weigh in day (Friday). So I'm making a point to increase my intake a couple days a week to up around my RDI, and see how that plays out on the scale the week following. Maybe it's like a reset for my metabolism, who knows. But I'm not going hog wild or anything, just a nice little boost, and a break from the norm.

Hopefully the end result will be another solid loss on Friday. Always the goal right?

I hope this journal finds everyone well, and we all have a great weekend!!

Isn't it wonderful to see how our bodies forgive all our past abuses and perform. I'm so impressed about your run - you will do great, I can already tell. Enjoy your new 16, soon it will be 14... Have a great weekend.

Awesome job on all of your successes. :) I remember last fall going for a run once I was down about 30 pounds or so, I felt the same way about it being so much "easier"- I actually felt light on my feet! Imagine that, your body being happier that it's lugging around so much less... Have a great weekend!

As a career dieter being told to eat 1000 calories or less I am constantly looking back at the past 16-17 mo's in amazement that I've achieved the SAME results (lost 100+lbs) but not starved, not living on fat free sugar free processed bs diet this low carb that but rather real food, good food. I often wish I could find one of those Law Firms like Crane, Poole and Schmidt (just finished going thru the Boston Legal Dvd's again) and file a class action suit against decades of diet gurus who misinformed my generation on how to be healthy. Instead I think my lucky stars every day I found this site who encouraged me to eat real food, good food, just not too much of it and enjoy it.

Hey, Yo. Glad to hear you've got someone to train on the 5K with now... it's so much better when you do it with someone. Also glad to hear that it is getting *easier*, Hah! :D Good luck on your *evil plan*. I think your plan has some pretty sound science behind it, though... so I think you're going to do great with it. Keep up the great work!
