TXSnowman's Journal, 18 Dec 10

No drop in weight this week, but I'm not going to sweat it. I lost 3 last week, so that's an average of 1.5 per week. It's really hard for me to get an accurate weigh-in anyway because my blood pressure medication makes me retain water, so I take a powerful diuretic to get rid of the excess water. So at any give moment, I am either adding water to my muscles or draining it, but never completely drained, so I just have to work off of averages. Just have to wait to see what next Saturday brings. That will be my last weigh-in befor I leave for a 2 week hunting trip in the mountains of Arizona.

You're doing pretty well, it seems to me. Are you sure the diuretic is safe?

Oh sure. Its a prescription med that I have been taking for about 10 years now. However, it is very powerful. Half hour after taking it, I will be visiting the WC every 20 - 30 min for about 2 hours. It works so well at getting the water out of my muscles, though, that I have to take a really high dose of potassium every day and have blood work done every six months to make sure that my potassium level doesn't drop. On the bright side, though, my blood pressure stays within normal limits, which is the important thing.

Snowman - we gotta do what we gotta do to keep our B/P within normal limits. I too am on meds for it & hoping to get off of them with weight loss. I'll hope the same for you
