You'll find variants of it all through the Middle East . Greek is widely recognized, but similarly made in Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon Algeria, even in South Eastern Europe

Baklava is the Greek version, there is a Turkish version and a Hungarian version. Think conquests and overthrows. How they exchanged recipes back then.

that's yall! yea i always thought it was greek too, but honestly didn't look into the history before cooking it up. I just had all the ingredients on stack and figured why not! coworkers today loved it :)
