Will somebody please remind me of why I am here?

I crashed again yesterday - decided it would be fun to try to eat my weight in granola bars.

Buffy they are like that potato chip..its hard to eat just one..but you can get back on track..you have had a busy weekend and probably didn't have the time to fix your foods like you normally would..easier to just eat a bar...when we worked hard on our remodeling..we ate nabs and beenieweanies..so I know what you mean...Hang in there..you know we have to lose 7 lbs. in May...:O)

Sometime I feel like giving up, too. I just know how bad it would be if I wasn't here at least giving it a try with all the support from everyone. When I give up... I really give up... like I did last time a few years ago. I really gained and now am at least I'm maintaining within a few lbs of the 15 I lost last year. Here it is May.. a new Spring day to start again. My WW Instructor used to say, One day, one hour, one Meal at a time.' "It doesn't matter whether you over ate yesterday. The best thing about the past is that it's past. Tomorrow is not here, you cannot control it. All that matters is staying on plan for just this one day: today.

They're tricky lil buggers. They look all sweet and innocent and healthy. Next thing you know you've got a bunch of empty wrappers sitting in front of you. I do the same thing with those stupid protein bars.

Ohh girl, you are here cause I NEED YOU as a buddy!!! Wait, that is selfish, umm.... you are here to take baby steps to the you YOU want to be! (that sound good eh!)... In a year or two, you will be transformed into WONDER WOMAN! I promise! Granola bars. Why not just have a snickers, or ice cream or cake. They are as tempting as cake to me. When I was in high school, i use to go to the store on the way to school, buy granola bars, eat them all day, got really fat... but hey, they were "healthy" ha. hang in there.. you'll be back on track TODAY! Cause I said so...

Try counting sodium grams per day and keeping them under 2000. Since my near death experience have learned that we all eat way too much sodium and it's in all processed foods. Since going on a low sodium diet have learned it reduces my cravings as much as ATkins did. But I can have more fruit and but less fat. Point is, concentrate on HEALTH not weight loss and you might find you lose weight. Cutting sodium immediately takes you to Atkins worthy foods as it keeps you in the 'outer rim of the grocery store', ie, fresh fruit, veggies, meat, fish, eggs, no processed foods. You had over 3g sodium yesterday! Leads to high blood pressure eventually. Stay healthy!

I remember those things! They are the devil. I don't get them anymore - I have switched to Jack Links turkey jerky for emergencies! You can do this lady - just remember your goals. :)

we're all here I suppose to get to a healthy weight so we can feel good about ourselves, have loads more energy and bring an extra zing to life. Oh and live to a ripe old age without any of the ailments that having extra weight might bring. Next time you see a Granola bar, squint your eyes and chant 'bad bar' until the desire to eat them passes. (Let me know if that works, it never does for me). You can do this, I know you can.

BB -- You sound like me. This has happened to me repeatedly. -- I have the opportunity to dive in a bucket of granola and feed as freely as a horse. You see here at work they keep bulk granola (honey and oat) in a cookie jar for morning breakfast. It's all in pieces, large to small. I can smell it just typing about it. To compound the problem of it being a huge weakness for me and a trigger, you would think I would keep it out of my house, nope not me, I'm not that smart. -- I got so sick last Thursday night after seriously pigging out all day and night until about 8:00 pm on everything junky including granola and ice cream. I made myself seriously sick. Sick like flu like symptoms. Very bad. -- Not sure if it was the sugar or the salt but I was completely wiped out and up sick in the middle of the night. -- Since then and up until last night I no longer had dreams related to food of any kind. My dreaming returned to normal. It was a nice break. -- I have not had any granola since. Not saying I won't in the future, just not yet. -- When this happens to me I reset myself the next morning, I stay away from the scale for at the minimum of a day (two are better) and I move on. -- Do the same and all will be good in the end. -- Remember, even if the scale goes up it is probably from sugar, salt, and water retention. It is not real weight gain. You would have to eat over your burn by 3500 calories to really gain one pound. Put it behind you and move on. -- All is good. -J

Buffy, you CAN have a granola bar.....just maybe not at this stage and maybe not quite that many. But you CAN have them...just a bit later. Now if I could just remember that mantra when I want a nut butter and/or peanuts, we'd both be golden! Here's to fresh starts!
