I really like words to be spelled correctly- I like correct grammar. I have a shirt that says, "I'm silently correcting your grammar." I know that is a bit much maybe and I feel bad when I wear it because it seems rude so it has become a last resort- haven't done laundry- shirt. The whole reason for writing- well-2 reasons- the 1st being that I don't want to get off the couch and take my fat ass to work so I am PROCRASTINATING... The second reason is I hate how to spell the word binging. Don't you feel like it should be bingeing? The google home mini says BINGING. To me, that rhymes with SINGING. So I plan to put an E in binging and I don't care who says it's wrong. To me it is like spelling refrigerator and then saying fridge. Maybe not exactly the same but anyhow. Deep thoughts. Happy Friday! Hitting the gym after work to make July 19th my 19th day straight- as planned until I can't go at the end of the month. I don't think anyone cares, but I am trying to make this post more relevant to this website. P.s. I have a typo in my "roller rink, learning to skate again" post and it drives me crazy. Probably will find one in here after I hit enter. 🙄😜

There is only one that really gets to me and that is "should of" as in "I should of gone outside today". What in the hell would that possibly even mean? Should of?!?? To me you are basically illiterate if you write that, it is completely nonsensical. Ok, ok, I realize I could of been less harsh 😉

@sallyf78- that is hilarious! I really like those smartass sayings, but I am too much of a chicken to ever wear anything like that. I still get a kick out of them.

Latin turned me into a grammar lover --- from understanding predicate nominatives to gerundives and who knows what else. However, thinking about this reminds me that the worst way to learn a foreign language (i.e., become fluent) is to focus on grammar. If interested checkout the research of Stephen Krashen. (Amazing. I never thought I'd be mentioning Krashen and language acquisition theory on Fat Secret.)

Sally- omg- that's awesome! I'd be unable to wear it- but I'd want to. I think "should of" falls in the same category as my hubby hating when people say "I could care less" instead of "couldn't care less". I'm not familiar with Krashen. I wish I knew other languages.

At least "I could care less" makes sense as a phrase, it just has the opposite of the intended meaning. What's worse is once I saw someone write "I really shouldn't of" It would have been better if they had come up with the world's first double contraction and wrote shouldn't've but no, they took the low road...

The thing that gets to me now is that people on reality television shows seem to have invented a new possessive pronoun structure: I's. They say, "Everyone came to David and I's party."

Don't feel bad, because I'm into spelling correctly. I have a tendency to also look for errors in writing. Using abbreviations drive me crazy. I have to look up all those shorten abbreviations people use in text messages. Maybe I'm old fashion, but it drives me wacky. I believe binge is the correct way to spell, or binged. I went on a binge for dinner tonight. ahhh.

I'm sure everyone has heard/seen "Let's eat, grandma!" and "Let's eat grandma!" as a way to show the need for commas. 🤣 Anyhow- Goodnight, all. 10:42 p.m. here and past my bedtime. When I'm sleeping, I'm not binging. I mean bingeing. ;)
