Happy Thursday everyone! So I have a couple questions if any of you would be so kind as to help me out I would greatly appreciate it! So I’ve been doing Keto for about a month now and have lost and gained weight it keeps fluctuating. So my question is how do you al do you’re fasting? Does anyone know what is recommended intermediate fasting is on Keto? I would love to loose a little bit more weight a little quicker!! Yes I have no patience!! 😉 in the past when I lost a substantial amount of weight I fasted all day and only ate dinner! Now that I’m older my body isn’t taking to that very kindly! I am always on the go with my little guy who is 2. Any suggestions would be super appreciated!! Thanks all!!

Everyone is different here. I do IF (intermittent fasting) So I skip breakfast and often also lunch. All depends. Are you logging all your food? Because if you are ... you are starving yourself and that may cause your losses to flatten out even on keto....

I can't really help you on your Keto journey, or IF for that matter. I'm just a calorie counter. I'm losing pretty slowly (2-3 lbs a week generally), which is fine with me as I had so very very much to lose and I didn't want to starve myself. But I am curious as to Liv001's question. Do you log all your food? All diets, no matter if you do IF, Keto, Mediterranean, CICO, etc., are based on lowering your caloric intake. Do you know how many calories you're eating a day? Do you log your food on another site or something?

The thing you don't want to hear: stop comparing to the past; your body has changed. You've lost nearly 50lbs in a little over two months. That's massive. Be patient. Be kind to your body.

Yes I am logging all my food! I have looked into having very low calories and yep I think you’re right I am starving my body! The only reason I compare myself to my past is because I have been heavy my whole life and the one time in my life that I was actually thin and felt good about myself was when I lost so much weight and the way it worked for me! In this journey I am finding my newer self and what is going to work for me to be at my ideal weight.

We have to embrace what we are now and work with that. Yes you probably have to eat more foods. If you do not in the long run your metabolism will slow down. So increase that slowly and see what happens. Eat as much protein as your body needs. This is important as you do not want the body to break down too much lean body mass. Eat good fats. Fats is what makes keto work well

Thank you so much!! I am going to try to increase my calories and protein intake and see if that makes a difference!! No I didn’t loose all that weight, my scales were actually broke! So I logged my weight according to my broken scales! I bought new fancy scales and that was the 50lb weight loss!! Lol I appreciate you all!! I am very content in loosing what I have and where I’m going. I just didn’t know if fasting helps and if I should try it! Just trying to find a happy medium for me that works and seeing what has worked for some of you all!! I appreciate you all!!

I do log my food every day, here on this site. I just keep doing it, mainly through the weekly Accountability Challenges from Debbie Cousins. It helps me notice everything I put in my body. What worked in diet before, does not work now with my older metabolism. So most of us are still trying to find what works. Welcome, Schrowe74.

So I usually don’t eat past 3pm, which was making my calories way low and probably starving my body. So I’m taking your advice liv and upped my protein and added a meal!! So hopefully that’ll kick my metabolism butt!! 😊😊

A healthy rate of weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. You want to find a diet plan that you can stick with to not only lose the weight but to move onto maintenance once you reach your goal weight. I don't do keto, but I do 16/8 intermittent fasting. I don't eat between the hours of 9 PM and 1PM. I usually eat 2 meals and two snacks during this time for around 1500-1600 calories. I have lost 35 pounds since the beginning of the year. Slow, I know, but this is a style of eating I know I will be able to maintain once I reach my goal. Good luck to you.
