Ok, here we go.

I want to lose 40 lbs in 40 weeks. My activity level falls between very active and active I think. I bike 7 miles, work out on the universal gym for 30 minutes, perform yoga exercises for 30 minutes and work 5 or 6 hours on my farm every day. I sit for 5 or 6 hours and sleep 8 or 9 hours average every day. My recommended daily calorie intake here is 2900 calories which is too much. I know this from experience.

I eat a plant based diet with very little fat and dairy: only 8 tbsp of half and half in the morning and 2 tbsp of olive oil average, per day. My average daily calorie intake has been 2300 for the last year; I plateaued at 229 lbs last June, but increased my exercise to try to cross it. That has not worked. I plan to lower my carbohydrate intake gradually to 60 g per day in an effort to cross the plateau on which I find myself. I had lost 42 lbs since November 2011 before I hit this plateau. =/
