DairyKing's Journal, 28 Sep 12

Hello My FS Warrior Friends! It is Friday. And for us here in the Midwest, it is a glorious sun-shiney day with temps in the low 70's. Lost 5 pounds this week, 3 since I started logging again. Must be the beans, LOL! Well, who knows? Maybe there is something to it, but obviously I can't draw any conclusions from the first week. We all know that the weight comes off pretty quick the first week you start back up again. Now, if I lose 3 or 4 pounds this next week, I'm buying stock in those green coffee beans.

Looks like my job is going to take me out to Texas, near Dallas in the next week or two for a few days. Seems I'll get an opportunity to bless others with my wit and wisdom. That's probably not what DW would call it, but I'm not dumb enough to ask her anyway. I hate flying, but it's a necessary evil in this line of work. I felt more comfortable jumping out of them than I do landing in them.

Had Hamburger Helper beef stroganoff for supper last night and again for lunch today. I just can't help myself; I love just about anything with hamburger in it. I'm a cheap date. It's probably not the healthiest thing a person can eat while on a diet, but I just try not to eat too much of it. Kind of like spaghetti - who can really just eat a cup of the stuff? I try to stay at 2 cups, and that can be tough. I can eat 2 cups because I drink a diet coke. :)

Well, I'm supposed to take DW out for dinner tonight. I can almost guarantee you that it is either going to be Oriental or Monicals Pizza. I've got a better chance of sticking with some semblance of restraint if we go oriental, but I suspect that she is having a handering for the pizza. Trying to eat just a few squares of thin crust pizza is like drinking lemonade at Octoberfest.

In preparing for my presentation on courage, I decided to use a short clip from the movie "We Were Soldiers" in which Mel Gibson makes the speech to his batallion before leaving the states for Viet Nam. That was a great movie inspired by a true story.

We Were Soldiers

Everyone have a wonamous day!

WOW - DK - that is some clip from the movie! I have not seen that movie. I am excited you saw the scale go down! If you keep losing , then the green coffee bean thing may be something, eh?

Way to go DK- another enjoyable post -per usual :)- Hope you have a nice meal out tonight with your good wife and can do it with out feeling out of control-I'm going out for a lobster-all you can eat supper tonight and it spells disaster - due to the fact I always feel like I need to get my moneys worth ;) and there is always lots and lots of tempting desserts etc. Wish me luck. What are these green coffee beans you speak of??

Lost 5 pounds - no wonder you are in a good mood! Oh, and I do know how hard it is to eat just a small portion of pizza - no way I can even go near a pizza place. But maybe not so bad that to find something that your wife can enjoy after all she has gone through.

Carolyn, the best I can do to bring you up to speed on these things is to direct you to my journal entry for Sept 19th, and click on the link for "Miracle Fat Burner." Watch the video and read the article. I'm not endorsing these things yet, but some are saying that it works when other things haven't. Yeah, Buffy, pizza has always been my nemesis. And HCB, that's a pretty intense movie that is a pretty real depiction of what happened in Viet Nam. Yep, Sk1nny, I will need luck if I eat pizza; if I ate one thin crust large pizza by myself (which I could do), that would be the week's worth of calories. That thought is about all that keeps me from going insanely out of control - the idea that that would be all I could eat for the week.

@Carolyn I have been taking the green coffee bean supplements for the last few days - I bought a month's supply and decided to give them a try as they are just green coffee (not chemicals) as I was drinking esspresso to get the same effect but these are stronger - it's supposed to up your metabolism, which I think my body needs help with, so am going to try them for a month and see....

WTG! I think losing 5 lbs is awesome! I know you are happy and I am still holding off on buying the green coffee beans even though I know my metabolism is broken and in need of help, but I can't handle more caffeine than I already get. I am assuming this is how they work? My internet connection is too slow to watch videos and clips but I saw that movie with Mel Gibson and it was a great movie.

OK, Sandy, just for you: OK, here's what I know about the Green Coffee Bean Extract that I am repeating from Dr. Oz. Sixteen adults lost 10.5% of their total body weight, 16% of overall body fat, and 17 pounds over a 12 week period, eating 2400 calories a day, without changing anything else that they did, other than take the pills. Dr. Oz suggests taking 800 mg. 30 minutes before meals 2 or 3 times a day. They say that the main reason this is so successful is that the green coffee beans have 50% more chlorogenic acid and that slows the release of glucose into the bloodstream (which should be great for diabetics) and boosts the metabolism to burn more fat in the liver. That's about all I know.

Well, we did go to Monicals Pizza. It wasn't a total disaster; at least we brought some of the pizza home. I tried to eat my share of salad before the pizza arrived. Veggie pizza with mushrooms, green olives, black olives and a few other things. I just let DW order it - she likes the garden pizzas, and I don't really care - just as well when I'm trying to cut back on the calories. Came home and cut up 4 large chicken breasts and put them on the dehydrator for the doggie. He's just about got me trained to take him out to go pottie, whenever he wants a snack.

I must get one of the dehydrator's. Is it like chicken jerky? It just sounded so easy when you said how you did it. :) My dogs loved the chicken liver & pumpkin dog biscuits I made for them but I felt like I was in the kitchen all day. LOL! All righty then... you now have me wanting to try the green coffee beans. My liver could use less fat, ...so I have been told over the years. So, I need to know how you do in the next couple of weeks (and Triaby, too). This sounds exciting. Thanks!

Filling upon the salad, before the "naughty" food arrives ... Good one DK... I wonder if you hadn't have joined FS, whether you would have had any pizza left to bring home! - I suspect not. Your dogs eat soooooo well - chicken breast!!!
