severe caloric deficits are also another recipe for major eating disorders

Cb, that still requires a surplus and fat converts directly to body fat no special process needed. ;)

Here's a fun one https://academic.oup.com/ajcn/article/74/6/737/4737416 When measured directly (5, 19, 20), de novo lipogenesis is strongly influenced by the macronutrient composition of the diet, even in the absence of excess energy, and can increase dramatically under certain dietary conditions. De novo lipogenesis increased 5-fold in lean subjects fed a low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet (70% carbohydrate, 10% fat) compared with a typical Western diet containing 45% carbohydrate and 40% fat (20).

Well I did say surplus but this even says it can increase quite a bit without excess energy..interesting

Yep, pretty cool. The body is good at survival. I'd say it happens since fat is essential to life. Still, fat is better at making you fat than carbs are if you're in a surplus.

And how is the yo-yo affect on that CB ? cause everyone around me needs to update their profile picture on Facebook every 3 months. up +10 down +10 up hearbalife tea 10 down up 10. 🤯 Herbalife, only chicken, clean eating, detox, bacon, salads only, no junk food 🤯 well that just until the binge eating starts

Yo yo effect on what? It was just a study that shows excess carbs can increase de novo lipogenesis with overfeeding (carbs can turn into fat) but as dB says fat will attribute to fat gain easier because it is already fat..i was just pointing out that carbs can turn into fat, and our bodies are amazing.

I mean the yo yo on restriction of a certain food type

It only leads to binge eating and stress

I didn't say anything about restricting certain foods.

Not demonizing anything. We are talking strictly fat loss not speaking on medical conditions. Insulin is irrelevant to mass loss or gain which is totally dependant on CICO.

Yes my comments are only on fat loss never about insulin or anything a like

I think that it is amazing to be able to become fine tuned into what the body needs to maintain and improve. It's so easy to log and track activity and diet now days. That would have been very difficult a decade ago. I think everybody has to experiment to some degree to find out what works for them...
