59Carol's Journal, 17 Nov 18

Deep breath! I had a great sleep last night. My husband - not so much. He is dragged out. I do find that I can cope with everything better when I am rested. A quick look over yesterday.

My husband's surgery went well. We were given more information on his cancer and the next steps which helps. Although it is not necessarily good news it does give us a clearer picture of what is to come. On Tuesday we see the cancer doctor and will have more information to fill things in.

I ate well and did not even find myself slipping toward 'panic' eating. I think the planning made all the difference. No need to make decisions on the fly.

Today we will relax and make a few plans around how well Dave is feeling. He has a couple of 'missions' he would like to do. We'll do what he can do!

Tomorrow is my weigh in day and I won't be home to do it. Not sure how I will deal with that -- weigh on Thursday when we get home or wait until Sunday? No need to decide today!

Don’t even bother weighing till Sunday. Right now it doesn’t matter. You did the best you could under the circumstances. Now just resume your normal WOE— no need to try to play catch-up. Just continue moving forward.

Information is essential! Taking a break from decision making is essential too! Sometimes you just need to "digest" all that information in order to make the best decision and charting a course. You are handling this very well. Bless you for understanding that he can only do what he can do. Don't worry about weighing in right now. The scale will be there when you get home. You are doing amazing!

What wonderful support you have all offered Dave and me. Thank you so much. I know the good wishes will help us. We did get all the missions done however the pace was excruciatingly slow. We shop very differently at the best of times. I tend to be laser sharp-- in and out with what I came for. Dave slowly goes up and down each aisle browsing as he goes. If he finds something, he then buys two because he likes the item! Right now he is moving very slowly so the process is exaggerated! I promise, I wasn't too impatient.
