yesterday was one of those days. I did not want to exercise and decided it would be my rest day. I did not want to do my fish tanks and decided to only do the big tanks and go run around for the day. then I ended up doing nothing. I ran to the grocery store to pick up some blueberries. I thought I might be a little low on vitamin K and thought I would try some to see if they effected me. and if I saw anything I wanted to endulge in I would grab it and enjoy. After carefully looking over my choices in the freezer department, nothing really tempted me. I love chocolate chip cookies and those did not tempt me either. pretty much spoiled and debated making my own since only the best would do. that did not get much attention either. so pretty much settled that I really did not want to endulge after all. nothing set off a I have to have it. I did grab my husband some of those little personal pies in cherry and blueberry. blueberry is my favorite but I really was not tempted for myself. I did see some pork butt ribs on sale and those I did grab. I put half in the freezer and experimented with cooking them in the slow cooker. while I did everything wrong, got to laugh, my husband loved them. they are supposed to cook all day, I did not get started until 1. I forgot to brown them. I seasoned them with garlic powder, cayenne pepper and paprika, sliced up part of an onion and procedded to cook on high instead of the low. about 40 minutes and turned them and did the same on that side. Nice juice already set up in the cooker to kind of baste them naturally. later I turned them down to low. They turned out great. I overate yesterday my calories by a couple hundred. and retained my weight which now has returned to normal. I had coffee for days way too much and today I am struggling to go without even with my 5 hour. but waking up in pain each day is no fun.

hopefully today I can get going and do some exercise and get back into routine. I am just so tired of the fish stuff. I get that way after a few years of a new hobby business. looking for the next challenge.

Sounds like a 'Mental Health Day' to me! I don't think you did the ribs 'wrong', you just did them 'differently' :) My mouth was watering!

they were good. I had to laugh, my husband was saying how good they were but if I wanted to have them perfect they should have some pork drippings to go with them. I pointed to the juices I set next to him. we both laughed. I know he loves to dip in the juice. I saved the balance to use as stock.

Idk, for a day when you decided to take the day off, you did a lot! The ribs sound delicious!

@PrincessValerie will make something I really like, but, since it was an 'experiment', later, she can't remember what she did (sigh). So, it is good you have this Journal to refer back to :)

There is never a wrong way to cook something if it ends up tasting great! Hope you get back to having more energy. I have had a bunch of hobby businesses as well - designed/sold t-shirts, collected/sold minerals, managed bands, among others...always needed a side gig to keep having fun while working a regular job - hope you find the next one you will love!

ah Jengetfit, my cooking is just a smaller chore of the day. and probably the most enjoyable as I get to nibble on things as I cook!

Nikeit I am pretty much stuck right now. I have thousands of dollars worth of tanks and they don't sell well. I honestly don't know what I will end up doing. and yes when the experiment works well it is great! I have a couple flops in my days. my husband is my best and worst critic.
