BMI?

I read someone post about BMI so I checked mine using a calculator online - my current BMI is 36.5. However the surprise for me is my target weight of 165 is still considered overweight. To get to “normal” I have to get to 159 - just wondering if anyone knows more about BMI scores - seems odd that it doesn’t take into consideration gender, build, or age?

159 would be great, but I set my target at 165 thinking it would be in the middle of what my weight range should be - not the high
end let alone over where I should be. Based on the BMI score my target should actually be around 145-150 pounds.

some do that that into consideration and honestly the calculators don't have the ability on most to take bone density or muscle development in consideration either. I don't worry about it. when you look good that is just a number.

BMI is not an accurate way of looking at health. It's better to measure your actual body fat % and see where a healthy body fat % for your height, weight, and gender would fall in the scale. Currently mine falls at 30%, and I should be between 23 and 26 %
