So, after a lot of debate and some gentle nudging...my team was able to influence the powers that be and convince them to put in a quarter-mile walking track on our property at back behind the building! Broke ground today and should be ready for an inaugural walk next week! We will be putting in some exercise stations in the spring as well. Received lists of cheers and applause from our office staff, but I think I’m more excited than anyone! What a great step in the right direction for our wellness rig ram...and I’m leading the way!

Super cool. Hope it catch on. Good luck with it. Got a feeling of some sort of distraction from the walking part may be needed for long term sustainability. As a kid I was involved with a game where you used a map and compass to find certain points, and the game was to find them all before the finishing line. Without attention to the walking part, hours of outdoor exercise enjoyment was put in. A hunter may walk the mountains for a week, hoping to get the reward. Just some thoughts about it shared. Great initiative.

I agree one-hundred percent! The novelty will certainly wear off. We do have some challenges that we plan to hold throughout the year to hopefully keep our investment worthwhile! We do have some die-hard lunch walkers...so I know at least they’ll get some use out of it! Our warehouse employees couldnt have cared less as they are recording 3-8 miles a day working already! Lol It’s those of us chained to our desks that need the exercise!

That sounds wonderful. I used to walk the walking track at a park a block from my house every evening, this was years ago before I retired. Now the community that I live in has nowhere safe to walk, not even sidewalks. Street walking is dangerous because of the traffic and with neuropathy of the feet walking along the roadside's uneven surface is even more problematic. I use shopping trips with extra Mall walking time to get in some walk time a couple times a week. I think I will see if others in my community are interested in a walking track. Our clubhouse area lawn in pretty large. Perhaps a safe walking area could be installed there. Even the golf cart riders might like that. They could ride down the the clubhouse area and get in some walk time there.

I think it is in China that there is mandatory Tai Chi in the lunch break or something. Not sure. Been awhile since I saw a video about this.
