That's great progress! I dunno what it is about inches, but I've heard from more than one person that the body will change shape, sometimes even when the weight is standing still. It will happen, though. Keep up your good work!

Tina, the fat may be emptied out of the cells, but the cells themselves are still there, they stay activated for a time in case they are needed for storage again, my body seems to stop losing weight for a week or two and during that time, I change shape and lose inches. When I started, I had no jiggly fat, I was hard as a rock, it was all very firm. After my first plateau it all started getting softer, jigglier. The next thing I noticed was excess skin and (ugh!) stretch-marks, I was shrinking! So, be patient, keep going, this is a process....and....when your boobs start shrinking you will be like...hold up now!! LOL!

Visceral fat maybe?? Visceral fat is body fat that is stored within the abdominal cavity and is therefore stored around a number of important internal organs such as the liver, pancreas and intestines. The body is a smart booger. It will dump the most dangerous fat first! 😉

trust the process

Expanding a little. Visceral fat is the fat that surrounds the organs and often interfere with them functioning properly. The liver can also get fatty. So, visceral fat isn't just belly fat.

Our bodies are a mystery, Tina!!! I've stopped trying to figure mine out. Just working my plan, eating LCHF, IF, weight training, doing my thing. My weight has kind of stalled, but I have seen a couple inches disappear. I'm sure in another week or two, the weight will start coming off again and then the inches will stall. Whatevs. I trust that it will all even out in the long run. Hang in there buddy!

I recently saw an interesting article that said that as we loose weight (especially at the beginning of a diet) that as we empty fat cells, they refill with water temporarily. Therefore, you may actually be losing more weight than the scale shows and after a period of time the fat cells will give up their water retention and the pounds and inches will come off. This may be what you're experiencing.

Are you measuring enough locations? The standard few are fine for some people to measure on, but I know the odd shape that my body morphed into required more measuring points. For instance... my upper arms and upper thighs were way fatter than the lower half of my upper arm, and lower thigh... mid thigh... and whatnot... and also my mom tummy was far larger than my waist or hips. I lost many inches from those areas (especially my mom tummy) before I lost from others like my waist.

You are doing SO well, I hope you can celebrate and not worry so often.

Christine, I measure my upper arm, my breast, under my breast, my waist, my hips, my upper thigh and the mid point of my calf. many many moons ago when i lost a lot of weight those are the measuring points the trainer at that gym measured and i remembered them. so that is what i measure every week after my weighin

I have lost 10lbs and noticed that my measurements are the same (except for the boobs, they shrank) BUT my clothes are fitting differently. So I am guessing inches are coming off, but not exactly where I measured. It is all very strange.

Keep on truckin NM, you are doing fine. The scale moving that far down in a short period is for sure partly water loss, but don't worry a bit as you are long term trending in the right direction. Inches lost are also inevitable as long as you consistantly post good numbers.
