Weekly update
Last week average 121.1. This week it was 121.5
Ended the week 2 lbs lower than I started so recovered from a bit of over eating.
.
I have been hovering around by goal weight for a month so it is time to declare it. I have lost the 20lbs I wanted to lose. I started in October so it took me five months. That is a long time. 3 months longer than last time I had to lose 20lbs two years ago.
.
why?
Older - yup it tracks
Eating - I had more diet breaks and one bout of covid
exercise - I exercises a lot but probably not as intense
..
So I have to be careful not to put on a lot of weight... getting harder to take it off.
.
My maintenance. plan for now is just to eat more veggie carb for a bit and then add other stuff. And to weigh and record daily so I can see how the eating affects me. I cannot do "mindful eating"... too many hangups.
.
I went to the market yesterday and founds some Japanese turnip. This is one of my favourite veggies. I have planted it but still early.. I can eat the leaves and the root. It is so good. I like it raw the best.

Congrats on the loss! Even though it took longer, I bet you had more benefit from the process. I’m not one for radishes usually but those look good.

Thanks Moko!!! They are a lot less hot than radishes - a sweetness to them... no bear in mind that I virtually never eat sweets so I may taste sweet where noone else will

Oh those turnips look fantastic. Yeah! Congratulations 🎊 on goal. I was just telling myself, NEVER AGAIN. It's too hard as we get older. I'm going to loud log like you too. We can't slip! Enjoy the spring greens.

Thanks Jen.... Yes the "Never again club" LOL..... I would be OK with a little gain in the fall but 20 is a bit too much to deal with it looks like. Good news is that my average YEARLY weight should be lower this year.

In the past 2 years, I have become a fan of turnip and collard greens. I probably canned 48 qts two years ago. For this diabetic, it's an incredibly low carb, but highly nutritious side dish that sometimes is a whole meal with a brat. Since you say they're mild turnips, I'd like to try some. I'll be looking at the market.

I’ve never had Japanese turnips. I’ll have to go buy some and investigate! It’s hard for to just do “mindful” eating as well. Still need to track in order to hold myself accountable. Maybe one day, I’ll stop. Not for now.

I have never had Japanese turnips, but I love purple top turnips. I also love Japanese sweet potatoes so I need to give these a try if I ever see any.
