My body does not want to go any lower for some reason...I’ve been hovering around this number or just a little higher for a week or so now. I keep thinking something will give but so far no luck.
I was super active yesterday—exercised and then cleaned the house all day. Eating has been good so eventually it has to go down, right? It’s hard to be patient when you’re putting in the effort😁 have a great day everyone!

I know the feeling! I feel like I have been fighting these last 10 lbs for a month now.

I have found that when my weight seems to stall, I have to change up the routine a bit. Granted, I'm not doing Keto, but I am doing lower carb than I used to. What I do is actually have a day of higher, but healthy, carbs and it seems to kick start for me. Sort of like carb cycling. I'm not technically doing that either, it's kind of my own version, lol. Just a thought. You're still doing great tho! I know it's hard when you're so close to your goal!

Thank you guys for the support! LSG417: I keep thinking I need to try a higher carb day but I’m so afraid of gaining lbs of water weight (I know, it’s just water and will come back off) but that would depress me! I need to do something to change it up a bit though cause it will depress me to stay the same much longer! Thanks for the advice!

You know, losing weight does take a lot of work and patience, not to mention discipline, and also a bit of creativity. So, what are you doing? Have you tried lowering your calories even more? Intermittent fasting? Building muscle via weightlifting?

I have done intermittent fasting (16-20 hrs fasting) it worked for a while and then has fizzled , I try to vary my calories so some days are lower and some higher, I haven’t done weights although I do use resistance bands a few times a week...I have 5 kids and exercise at home because going to the gym is crazy hard with all their schedules. I want to try more weights/strength training so need to figure out a way to get to the gym. Patience is something I need to work on haha! It has come off quickly and now slowed down and I don’t want it to slow down 😁 Thanks for the input!

Everyone hits roadblocks when it comes to fitness. Keep tweaking your nutrition and workouts eventually you will find the right method.

Are you targeting calories or macros?
27 Mar 18 by member: @philrmcknight
Both Phil! Granted, I don’t hit right on most days, but I try!

Thanks joe! I will keep trying 🙂

You tried IF and it started to tank, which is odd, but it is what it is. What are your macro and calorie targets?

Incorporate your weight training into your housework! Lifting laundry is NOT light! Deep knee bends loading the dishwasher. lol I’m sure with 5 kids you can think of more than I can! 🙋🏻 What you record isn’t as important as what you actually DO! Get the kids involved in some dance and look at some stretching routines like Miranda Esmonde-White does on PBS. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Looking at my weight graph it's clear that there were at least 2 stretches -- one 9 day stretch and one 6 day stretch, that I basically plateaued, despite the fact that I was clearly following the RDI calories recommended by this site. And I record EVERYTHING that I put in my mouth. No exceptions. I also try to keep sodium under 2,400 mg/day, and I drink 100 ounces of water every day. After 9 days (March 7 to March 16) I only dropped .6 pounds -- 217.8 to 217.2. It was frustrating because I KNEW I should have dropped AT LEAST another pound or a pound and a half, based upon my calorie count and exercise level. And from March 19 to March 25 I only dropped .4 pounds -- 215.0 to 214.6. Similarly, based upon calorie counting, I "should" have dropped more. Then from yesterday to today I lost 2 pounds! Go effin figure. All I can say is that it's important to be patient with this zig-zagging process. (NOTE: I am most definitely NOT a patient person and so it's much easier to say than to do. There have been several occasions when I've slammed the door to the room that has my scale. And I've been tempted to revenge binge eat. But so far I've been able to keep a lid on those emotional reactions and keep moving forward. All I can say is that OVER TIME, I can see undeniably that my weight loss plan, based upon this site's RDI number, is working. I've lost 17 pounds since joining this site Feb 4th. (And I lost 23 pounds from November 27th 2017 before joining this site.) It just doesn't work the way I think it should. And I have to force myself to be more patient than I normally am.)

Phil: My goal is to stay around 20-25g total carbs, 50-60g protein and 110+ g fats. I average about 1350 cals a day (some days lower, some higher) I’ll try fasting again...it worked well for the first few weeks then I wasn’t losing as well and stopped doing it because I feel better when I don’t fast (was light headed a lot) I was still trying to hit my macros and calories when fasting. Any advice?

Smprowett: I definitely do a lot of exercising around the house with 5 kids ages 2-18! They keep my busy😁

Try eating one meal a day on 23:1, keep your macros around 70:25:5 fats:protein:carbs. If you don't feel good eating only once a day go twice a day with the same macros under whatever your calorie target is.

I do the same thing as another commenter, when I stall: have a day of higher than normal carbs or a somewhat safe cheat meal. It then shocks the body into action. You’re doing great!!

Sam! This sounds like me! I laughed about you slamming the door on your scale haha! It can be frustrating and so hard to be patient even though we’ve had success so far. Here’s to more patience and down-trending scales!😁

I have been stuck since Christmas so maybe it's astrological? I lift weights 2 times a week, and do aerobics 3 or 4 times a week, and try to stick to 1300 calories. Its hard waiting for something to happen!

LOL, Sam's comment about the scale reminded me of another person I follow calling their scale the idiot box. Pretty fitting some days!
