Sandy701's Journal, 14 May 12

3.1 miles walked this morning, just a mile of it with doggies, due to the heat after us getting a later-than-usual start. Oh well...the dogs still appreciate any outing, no matter what length of time.

City workers alerted me to a coyote in the brush near where we were walking, although they had lost sight of it. My dogs are big, so I wasn't too worried, plus they were on leash, so no real risk of encounters. Just to be sure, however, I did pull my pepper spray out of my pocket.....just in case. I'd have been more worried if I were walking a small dog or if I had cats at home.

Well, I have 1 more day to get to 150....or 151...which just might be achievable. I was just .3 pounds away this morning, although it was later than usual for a weigh-in. Unfortunately, tomorrow will be an earlier weigh-in because I have a contractor coming over early to replace a broken spring on the garage door. This contractor is a "nice" one, having been referred to us by a neighbor when we needed garage door work several months ago.

The rains and storms over the weekend cooled the pool water too much for me to swim for the next few days. I suppose I could turn on the heater, but the weather forecast is for temps 85-90 by mid-week, so I might just wait and let Nature warm the water.

Yes, I bet your dogs are grateful for their outing but, like the commercial says, they always want more! We have coyotes in the woods behind our house and they make me very nervous too - but so far no encounters with any of my pets. Best of luck with your weigh in tomorrow (and your contractor too).

I'm sure you dogs love any length of outing with you, just to be with you. Even though you have big dogs, still be on the alert & watch for the coyotes. If you leave them alone, they shouldn't bother you either. Good job on the weight :)
