Sandy701's Journal, 16 Mar 12

Walked 2.2 miles this AM with just 1 doggy....Lab gal did something to her foot and kept licking it. Couldn't see that there was anything wrong, but left her at home just in case. Clear blue skies but already quite warm when we went out...75 degrees and climbing. I have some dog grooming to get done today. Might go out and walk some more later tonight....or maybe I'll just do XBox.....not sure.

Tomorrow will be no specific outdoor walking for me, as I plan on tackling the lawn and all sorts of cleanup relating to it. The live oaks are doing their springtime leaf drop and on a breezy day like today, it's like a shower of those tiny leaves everywhere there's one of those trees. They don't really mulch very well, they don't decompose readily, and they're really hard to rake up....I'm hoping the vacuum action of the mower will help to pick up a good amount of them.

We have rain right now and possibly snow tonight. Enjoy the yard work. Isn't it nice to have a mower that'll pick that stuff up.

The mower is fairly good at the pick-up, but only when I lower the mower height. So, I have to find that happy medium between getting some of the leaves, but not scalping the already-growing grass. I end up leaving more leaves on the yard than I would like, but the only alternative is to rent a Billy Goat or hire a lawn service that utilizes one.....those live oak leaves are a real challenge!!

Hey girl..sounds like you won't need to walk if you get your yard in shape..I like to work in the yard at times..before we can mow I will have to rake all the twigs and limbs up where the wind blew them off this winter..It will soon be time to mow.. May get out there Sat..it all depends on the weather..Hope Lab gal's foot gets better...:O)

Hey, Sandy...hope you were able to get the yard work all done. I think I am going to have to start mowing here soon. Way too early. Hope your furbaby is okay. Have a great Sunday!

Kahina, I don't think of myself as being all that active, but I sure do more now than I did when I started this journey! Thanks for stopping by!

Buffy....whatever ailed her seems to be all better now. She went out walking with DH and my Collie this AM and did just fine. And, yes....I did MAJOR exercise outside today. I'm pooped!!!

Bren, I spent most of the day outside doing mowing, trimming, weeding, and hauling. But it was a great, sunny day to be outside. Good thing I can't do more tomorrow because every muscle hurts right now! My Lab gal is all back to her (ab)normal self!

Stef, I don't think there are enough days in the MONTH to get all the outdoor work done - LOL!!! But I made a nice dent in it and have several bags out at the curb for recycling pick-up this week. I'd wish you a great Sunday, but I know you always have a good Sunday!
