Harleygirl54's Journal, 31 May 16

I have struggled for years, yo-yo dieting and I am so frustrated. I have back pain, bulging and degenerated discs and an annular tear which limits my exercise and this too frustrates. The more frustrated I get the more I eat, which is pretty screwed up if you ask me, but I also understand emotional eating can be fairly common. I know support is helpful and I am reaching out, so any suggestions from this community will certainly be of benefit. So far my day is going well, have not over eaten and do not plan on it. I was fairly strict with myself over the past week, yet I am up .8lbs! Well today is another day, another week to try to get that scale down a bit and determined not to self sabotage.

Stay strong Harleygirl54. It is such a mental madness trying to loose weight. Every turn there is something to sabotage progress. I always forgive myself quickly when I make mistakes (overeat) because if depressed it is harder for body to loose weight. In my many years of experience the weight loss happens faster and is more consistent with exercise. On days that you absolutely don't feel like hitting the gym just keep moving, avoid the couch. Get the house cleaning done. Promise yourself to workout EVERYDAY there is rain, so when the sun is shining you can get out on the bike. Get all the stuff out of that house that contribute to cheating on your health program. Join a challenge group, may help to motivate you! I wish you the best but when that voice says "have some chocolate or have French fries" (whatever it may be) shut it down. Tell yourself you haven't reached your goal and re-train the mind. It sure is hard but believe in yourself, be happy you make it past those moments. Put encouraging reminders in your phone you have a goal. Visualize your fit hot body on that Harley. I wish you all the best!! Sincerely!
