Ok, back on one of my favorite woe 'diet' plans. The one where I can eat certain foods throughout the day but only those foods on the list. It is one I like mainly because it does not make me think to much about food and also that it allows flexibility with meal times. I know I should be more scheduled and restrictive but this one normally works for me. The downside is that I can't eat 'other' foods, but then again when I would eat 'other' foods, even trying to limit portions, that did not work for me. So this is the one I am hoping on staying on this month to test it out again. The only hurdles I see coming up is my birthday, since I have friends that want to take me out to lunch or dinner, but I plan on eating as close to my plan as I can. I can have lettuce, cucumbers, celery, scallions which I hope I can transfer into having a salad with out the extras (croutons, cheese, tomatoes, etc) and white fish, which I will request plan broiled. Not sure how to handle any other side dish. I can have strawberries & cantaloupe, maybe the place we go to will have fruit as an option. The other thing is my kids may be coming to do a cookout for my Bday, at least I can make sure my 'foods' are on the menu, but I really don't want a cake, they all know I'm not a cake person so maybe they will not mind if I don't "partake in the cake". I can have plain yoghurt (which I love) and sometimes I'll mix dry jello (sugar free which is ok item also) in it and put it in the freezer until it is like soft serve, which I'll have while they are doing cake & ice cream. I really need to get back down below the 70s I just don't feel good at this weight even though some friends say I "look good" or "its not that bad", or "you can have just one", or "diet after I leave" or they buy and put the foods, snacks that are temptation to me, right in front of me! But it is ME that controls what I do and what I put in my mouth and I need to remember that even if that one, 2, 3, 4 or more chocolate chunk cookie might taste good right at the time I put it in my mouth, the goodness is GONE when it is swallowed!
