Hello and Happy Thursday to my FS friends. Today is my three year anniversary of using this app. Though my progress has stalled this past year and I’ve even had a slight gain as of late I am still very grateful for the accountability and support I find here. Even if I never get to my true goal of 158 (last achieved for a brief period in 2007) I am so much better off now as I enter my mid 60s. In the fall of 2019 I visited my daughter who was studying in London and I huffed and puffed my way along on our sightseeing, dragging at least 50 more pounds than I weigh now. I had convinced myself I couldn’t muster the energy to try to lose weight again. After all, it had taken me 4 years to lose 50 pounds the first time (2003-07, keeping paper log and exercising 6 days a week). But finally three years ago as I cried in the doctor’s office, having gained even more, I realized I had to try again. So thank you to everyone who has offered a kind word, healthy recipe and helpful suggestion along the way. My progress has not been the fastest but I’m not giving up and not going back. I took a picture of myself last month where I think I can finally see the difference. For most of my life I have felt I needed to hide behind other people in a group photo. Soooooo tired of that! But now I don’t think I need to do that anymore. Take care, and remember to count your blessings along with your calories, macros, reps or whatever else!
