Great day on the recumbent bike today; enjoying the ride while the ice and snow continue outside. We have not been above freezing since Sunday afternoon, and much of middle TN has been at or below "zero" for lows depending on the elevation & location.

Back to the bike,...I've had some good days on the bike this past week, but today was a record day for me. My total MPH was 17.70 for the entire ride, and the last segment was 18.85 MPH. There are some days that the legs feel like they are still 19-24 years old and in peak condition during the days in the Army and while in college. When I say "legs" it really is my thighs and calves. Anything around the knees feels old-ish due to injuries sustained several years ago. After the operation on the 1st knee in 2009, the surgeon told me "if you were a professional athlete, your career would be over. If you were a race horse, we would have to shoot you". Happy I am not a horse. The surgeon, who is now a friend (3 operations + a couple of other non-surgical consults), looked at me when I came into his office in 2018 after injuring the 2nd knee and said jokingly,..."You did it again, didn't you". Yep, sure did. So, almost 6 years later, the legs are great, but the knees,...not so much. He is an artist of a surgeon and a great guy. I am truly happy that he could put me back together so I could walk, ride a bike, play with my grandchildren, and play golf.

17.70 MPH and a 1 minute plank. Now on to having lunch and then balancing the check book.

Everyone keep focusing, keep exercising, and keep losing / maintaining your weight. Enjoy the snow. God is good !!

Good job on the bike! You have made the best of being cooped up inside. I am tired of bad weather. Ready for Spring!

MorticiaAddams,....ME TOO !! :) We ventured out in the snow & ice last night to buy groceries. My road is still totally covered in ice and snow. The main roads are OK, but the sides never get serviced. It took us 30 minutes to travel 5 miles. One of the side roads we travel was open when we went to the grocery store. Coming home, it had been shut down due to accidents and trucks running off the road into the ditches. Ughhh !!
