A little more wisdom from Tim McGraw on a Friday Morning:

“One study of people who'd kept significant weight off for over two years highlighted something interesting: Those who are most successful at sustaining healthy lifestyles for the long term aren't necessarily the ones with the most resources. They're the ones who have developed a sense of ownership by landing on a way of healthy living that works uniquely well for them; over time, they have honed their best way of eating and exercising that suits their bodies, lifestyles, and interests. They've found what fits.”

“I want to help you get to where the "right" choice and the "fun" choice merge and it starts to feel better to do the hard thing than not to do it. This is a powerful junction; it's where you gain momentum and the effort becomes a little easier. You find your groove, and making healthy choices starts to become automatic. When you're in this groove, you can spend less energy on the motivation to get going and grind through the work and spend more of it on getting creative, having fun with physical activity, exploring your full potential, and really doing you.
The best way to get this groundwork down? Follow a well-tested course, mapped out by a guide who's been up and down the mountain a few times, even if not always completely smooth. I don't have a perfect formula for making it easy 24/7. My own route involved a few mishaps. But with trial and error I've forged a trusty set of tools that I rely on day in and day out.”

I agree with what you posted. It took a couple of years for me to lose weight and to think healthy day in and day out. I no longer crave sweets and junk food. If I overeat occasionally, it's usually healthy food. Sure, sometimes I have cookies and cake.

The changes that happen as we progress are interesting. For example, I really used to love getting fried chicken with the boys at work. Now, at this point in my evolution, I much prefer the idea of fried chicken far more than the actual food. Last couple of times I had it, I really wasn’t very into it. Beyond that, it sure doesn’t make me feel the same way my current way of eating does. Although much of that is at least partially due to the fact that I am more aware of the signals my body sends to me these days. Back then, not so much. Now I’m a stranger to the chicken crew. At least at lunchtime.
