Windy Day's Journal, 30 Oct 23

Ok. Weekend fun is over, time to get serious again. My old injury knee is stiff again and my feet are swollen so I know I'm retaining water. Have to work on that this week. I've got to keep up with my B-complex and drink more water, use less salt. And have turmeric tea evenings for inflammation.

High time see some weight loss again.

May we all taste sweet success this week.

I have the same issues with puffiness from salt and retention. And my old injuries are with ankles and plantar fasciitis. So I get how frustrating that is! I went to an herbalist years ago and she gave me Nature's Sunshine "Urinary Maintenance" to take for water retention. It has about 11 natural herbs and minerals. Just FYI. If you have something that helps you, I'd love to hear about it.

Your turmeric tea sounds great. I'll have to try that. That's supposed to be great for weightloss too.

I take the B-Complex daily, and keep cranberry plus probiotic caps and Urinary System Support by Herb Pharm on hand for flare ups. Turmeric is great for inflammation. Ive used it with many injuries, when I get a pancreatitis flare up, and often just because it tastes great as tea or golden milk.

I just turmeric powder from the spice section, or you can buy the fresh root, or even a commercial preparation/caps etc. I heat some type of milk in a small saucepan (usually almond or oat, I dont drink cows milk) with a cinnamon stick and some ginger fresh or powder, a tsp or so of turmeric and a dash of black pepper (the piperine in it makes the curcumin in it more bio-available, a bit of honey to sweeten, and even a bit of coconut oil sometimes as the fat also aids in absorption. It is soo yummy on a cold night!

Wow that sounds good. I take turmeric pills but have been trying to cook worth it more. I've only done rice and soup so far so I should try that sometime as I've been adding herbal teas each day.

Oh and the herbs you take sound similar to the ones I was telling you about.

The Urinary Support is a tincture of Goldenrod Flowers, horsetail, corn silk, uva-ursi leaf and juniper berries. I add a dropperful to a bottle of water. Actually tastes good, kind of like pine, lol.

Turmeric powder is good on eggs too.

Exactly, and potassium. I take vit d3 daily also as my levels run low. And keep an eye on iron as well. It's a juggling act for sure!

I did not know that. I will most definitely get the coenzyme B-complex from now on. Thank you for sharing that, Lux!
