I did a carb cycle yesterday and so I weighed 2 days in a row, just to see the difference. I haven't done carb cycling for quite some time but was having such a hard time getting weight down I decided to try it. I also don't like doing it when I work out really hard because I need those carbs for fuel. Since my workouts are only upper body right now ( and we were on vacation) it's ok. Let's see if I can maintain 👍💪💜
59.3 kg Lost so far: 11.0 kg.    Still to go: 0 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

So I looked at your food journal and I don't know if I could go that low on carbs. Maybe on my rest days but I agree with you on workout days I need more carbs. I was looking at a TDEE calculator over the weekend. I put that I am still trying to lose a few pounds and you told it how many days you worked out, body fat % and waist size. It gave me my calories for rest days 1211 and workout days 1614. I thought I would try that for a few weeks and see what that does. I would be adjusting my carbs and fat down on rest days.

nice 👍 I played around with my carbs a few days this week to see how I felt Im normally around 400 grams a day and I went below 100 the one day I dropped like 4 pounds in 1 day 😄

Redporchlady, yea, I wouldn't recommend carb cycling on a workout day. If I carb cycle the day before a heavy workout I make sure I eat carbs for breakfast (Usually oatmeal) before my heavy workout. Let me know how the new WOE goes. That's interesting to me!

Otb, Wow! If I ate 400 carbs a day Id be a ball of flab! 100 is max for me! But then again, I don't work out like you do...you're a beast!💪💪👍

What are carb cycles? Are you adding in extra Carbs on a low diet or are you abstaining .. I used to keep one day a week as a bit of a cheat day, where I would eat whatever meal I wanted regardless of anything. I think that used to help with plateaus. But havent done so in a while.

John, thank you!👍 Bandrai, carb cycling is where you eat a low amount of daily carbs,(35-50 grams) higher fat( 50+ grams) and high protein ( 125+) The carbs should be complex carbs and fat should come from healthy fats. Carb cycling is generally done on rest or low weight days at gym. While I was losing weight I did it about 1-2 days a week. While in maintenance I wasn't doing it as I was weightlifting heavy and 6 days a week so I needed carbs for fuel.( my normal is 100 grams of carbs a day) You can Google it for more info.💜 I agree with you about treat/ cheat meals! It's all about balance and sometimes it's good to mix it up!👍
