Well this week my daily average calories have been hovering between 1800 and 1900 so I think that might go up by the end of the week. Lots of room for improvement next week.

We went on an 8 mile / 13km walk on the bank holiday Monday, which was great. There were some slight hills and tons of mud! We've joined a new Meetup group with some longer walks so we've booked to do another one on the 15th of Jan as hubby is working this weekend.

So, as I'm left to my own devices I shall either have to do a YouTube strength workout or get out of my comfort zone and visit a new area I haven't been to yet and walk around there for a couple of hours. I think it might rain all weekend so it might be the first option by default, but fingers crossed there's a gap and I take it. There is a slight danger I'll make it to the town by bus and then make myself comfortable in a coffee shop reading and people watching while enjoying cake and coffee, but at least I would have gotten out of the flat. :)

This week we went for a walk to the library on Wednesday and today there's another bit of shopping to do so that is usually a 45 minute round trip. We'll hopefully up this to three good local walks per week and then try to fit in an 8 miler on the weekends when hubby's free. He bought some walking poles this week too after the muddy, hilly walk we did and he grabbed a stick enroute, which helped him alot. Got a great deal at Blacks.

We've had a bit of 'warm' weather this week with 12 degrees, which is great, but I fear it will plunge down to 4 and 6 again soon. Bracing myself. It's been nice not having to worry about gloves this week yet - but thankfully I've received two very nice pairs of gloves as Christmas gifts. One is very functional and black with a little bit that buttons back when you don't need it and then covers your fingertips when you do. It's lined with soft fluffiness so perfect for chilly days. I also like that the wrist part is a bit longer on your arm - I hate having a gap between glove and sleeve (can you tell I hate the cold?). The second pair is more sleek and stylish in grey and also has a good length to it. Very nice wool too, but your fingertips are exposed - so fine for when I'm inside and want my fingers free for keyboard access.

Wow! I've rambled on long enough - gotta get back to work. I thought I'd have the day time to relax this week, but I've had freelance work in on Tuesday already. It's taken me ages to do anything because I thought I'd have this week off. I have gone back to my evening job on Tuesday though and I'm so grateful that I'm still enjoying that too. I think next week when I'm mentally ready to start freelance work again I'll get back into the swing of things properly.
