This afternoon I did:
Kaleigh Cohen Strength - 30 min Full Body Resistance Training with Dumbbells
Followed by her:
POST-WORKOUT STRETCH for Injury Prevention & Flexibility

Used 6.5kg weights, which I then only used one of for some of the moves and also altered as I went along. They were too heavy for chest flys so I just did chest presses instead. Missed those and my favourite deadlifts so much - so it felt great to get back to it again.

I can't say that I'll keep at it or have this or that schedule planned yet. Still seeing what my routine will be this year, but up to 3 x 30 minute workouts per week would be great to build up to since it's been so long.

The Google Fit app on my phone stopped tracking steps last month for no reason so I just gave up on it - and today I took a look and it's actually tracked steps from the week of Christmas till now. Seems that week I did over 45 000 steps so that's not too bad. I've had my target on the App set at 5 000/day for ages, but this coming week I think I'll try to get to 50 000 total. Since I wasn't wearing my phone while doing my evening job this week and got to just under 40 000 - it should be fairly easy to do, one thinks.

Yesterday the sun came out suddenly in the afternoon and I took a 20 minute bus to a nearby little town, which was really cute. Somehow 2 hours disappeared in the blink of an eye and then I got caught in the rain on the way back. Found a great pair of shoes for summer in a charity shop though and bought some things I really didn't need, but felt I wanted to support local artists. So I'm glad I got some exercise in (although only tracked as 50 minutes of walking in 2 hours) since today is way too wet and grey to go anywhere.

As far as workouts go - last week when I tried to set my alarm for 6:30am to get up for one I just couldn't get out of bed. And after I get home at 9pm is just a bit too late, but if I can fit it in and have a hot shower before I go to bed at night that might be the way to do it. Otherwise a good workout on Saturday might be enough for now because we're booked for another 8 mile walk on the Sunday.

I will also make more of an effort to get back to IF again, but I'll see what works or doesn't this week.

Thank you to all of you who posted getting back to it this week - it really motivated me to 'get it done' and I'll hopefully find my stride again soon too!

Have a great weekend all! xxx

Nikki, your bus ride and trip sounds wonderful, well, except for getting caught in the rain. Nice find at the charity shop. I love finding good stuff at thrift/charity stores. I think you're doing great and getting closer and closer to achieving your goals. 💕

Thank you Becky!💕 Yes, I love a good thrift/charity store too! I've found some of my favourite things in them including a red knitted jumper that was brand new / unworn and a maxi skirt years ago that I wore for years and years. Auctions are fun too, but we haven't been to one in years. We might go to a car boot sale at the end of the month though - those are fun too. Thank you for your kind words about reaching my goals. I do feel like I'm in a good place right now so just need to keep on keeping on. Hope you're having a good week too! xxx
