i've always been ok with my body. when i was a teen i told myself if i would never hit 140. At the time I was about 126. I have a fit, muscular build, with a small waist, shapely calves and a medium sized bosom. so, i never had a problem with that...especially knowing that i'm fairly tall, and everything generally fit into a size 3. fast forward about 15 years, and I'm ten lbs above that do or die weight. i was still more or less ok with my weight. so ok with it, that i got married weighing about 150.

i've realized that being skinny is not a motivator for me. My husband, who is slim, loves my figure...and especially likes that my breasts gain a cup size when i have a little weight on! i would like to say that health motivates me. but that's not exactly true. I eat a very healthy balanced diet without giving it much effort. I actually enjoy good food. (I also happen to enjoy sugary treats, which combined with a lack or exercise has lead to constant creeping weight gain over the years) I do what i want. It's a lack of discipline that has arisen from not finding SOMETHING to motivate me.

My hubby is really awesome. He helped me with this, and has no idea how much. Tired of hearing my complain about clothes not fitting (and using it as an excuse to buy new clothes, he presented me with a challenge. If I loose ten pounds (get down to 140) by July 30 - he'll take me to the Mediterranean in September. I have a gym membership. I don't start work till 9...and now i have a little incentive.

The crazy thing is, I don't think it will take that much effort to lose the weight. For now, I'm not going to change my diet. It's summer, I'm gonna enjoy bbq, and the occasional ice cream cone. However, I'm getting reaquainted with the gym...gonna put some extra time and care into my garden, and going to enjoy exploring my neighbourhood by bicycle. It's already paying off. I'm under 150! Just - i know that. BUT - i stepped on the scale at the gym with my shoes, track pants, bra, panty and top on. That's gotta add up to at least 1 lb! Aiming for 140 with my gym clothes on..and I finally have the motivation to get there :)
67.8 kg Lost so far: 2.5 kg.    Still to go: 3.4 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.
