Wow!!! No wonder people do Atkins! This diet is bit more extreme than Atkins but it similar, and you can only do it 2-6 weeks at a time.

I love how this is turning out. Two weeks are up this Sunday. We'll se how much I lose in total then. I was thinking of stopping then, but I'm not sure anymore. I'd really love to get to the 130s. I haven't been that low since high school, so it's a great milestone in my weight loss journey.

Regardless of what happens, this year is a good year for weight loss. I've been doing really well. I might even fit into a size 7 again! The 9 is feeling very comfy right now!! Love it!!

its ok to do it in short spurts, but you don't want your body in ketosis for too long causes damage, so alternate a couple weeks on and off, with lower carb amounts, keep under 100ish carbs during your carb interval and youll be fine

I wouldn't automatically assume that ketosis causes damage. Don't get dietary ketosis confused with ketoacidosis which is usually a type 1 diabetic issue. I have been on keto and in ketosis for most of the last 2 years (with the exception of a small number of cheat days) and feel better than ever. All of my labs have drastically improved, my energy is better, and my blood pressure is WAY down. If there is a negative to long term ketosis, I haven't found it yet! Just remember that keto is low carb, MODERATE protein and high fat. The people that usually have problems with ketosis based diets is that they go high protein, low carb and low fat. That leaves no energy source and you end up feeling horrible. Just remember that protein is a great building block (muscle building and retention) but bad at providing energy for your day. Finally, great progress so far. I lost 130 lbs by going keto and loved every day of it! For me it was a lifestyle change. I am never going back to a high carb diet.
