Symptoms include increasing resentment, mood swings, chronic fatigue, and depression. Sound familiar? Sound grim? It is! Sufferers struggle through their days in a vacuum of unfulfilled exasperation, only to drop into bed too emotionally depleted to sleep well at night. THe littlelest thing can set them off, bringing tears and tantruns- and not only from the children in the family. Soon work and personal relationships begin to suffer. Why? Becasue the never-refreshed are really not that much fun to be around. The cycle may continue unabated until physical illness sets in. Remember the flu you had last year for 5 weeks? The two weeks you were layed up with your lower back in pain last summer? The sinus infection you couldn't shake last month?

We don't have to make ourselves sick before we can all call a time out. Unfortunantly for many people, it is only when we do get sick that we allow ourselves to dispensation for time and space alone. This may be how real life is for you right now, but it doesn't have to stay that way. If you find yourself secretly looking forward to a regular rendezvous with a hot water bottle and Nyquil, then privacy deprevation syndrome is exacting a high price. Let me reassure you there is a better path. How you feel matters - Sara Ban Breathnach

“It's getting to the point where I am no fun anymore, I am sorry. Sometimes it hurts so badly I must cry out loud, ' I am lonely.' I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are, you make it hard.” ~David Crosby

I love my privacy, but I probably have too much time alone since I work at home. I talk to my dog and cats a little too much! Hope you're having a great day, Lisa!

Loved your entry today, Lisa. Great comment by Coach - I'm an OLD fan of CSN too! There is a balance to be reached between being a recluse as I was and having no time for connecting with your own being. Have a good night, my friend!

Hi Lisa! Thanks for sharing this entry. I do need alone time everyday being just quiet. Gardening is a good time being in solitude. Have a lovely evening, my friend!:)

I get private time when I run, but since Lee and I are on opposite schedules I get a little too much private time! But it hasn't always been so, and I can remember needing "space" every now and then.
