Going to try to keep it good other than the fried fish for our anniversary this weekend. I swear from May 1-June 4th is like one celebration right after another in our family. Lots of May babies. Any tips for large family gatherings where delicious temptations are involved. At this point I am considering a blindfold, lol...

Can only tell you what I did on a family vacation. For me, it's more about health than weight loss, so I just stay focused on my health. Doesn't mean I don't partake of treats, but I try to moderate. If it's one of those events where people are bringing food, bring a big plate of tasty food to share that fits your diet strategy. For me, it would probably be berries and other fruit. Someone on low carb or keto might bring a nice platter of different cheeses and salami, summer sausage, etc. Don't deprive yourself completely, but take a sliver of the birthday cake, not a big slice. Stay focused on you and what you truly want. Good luck! 😊

I would take a salad or fruit and fill up on it first. Or eat before I left. I eat less than a serving of foods not on my plan.

If it's a buffet style meal with lots of choices take a tbsp or 2 of everything. If it's a more traditional style like lasagna & salad, take a reasonable portion of the main course & LOTS of veggies. That way you get to taste the stuff you enjoy without going overboard. Desserts....a tiny slice of cake or a couple of spoons of cobbler. You may not lose weight but you can probably maintain. Family time is precious 💖 Have fun!

Sometimes what helps me is to remind myself why I started this. And telling myself that better foods will help my future self, and try not to even pay attention to the foods that will not nourish me.
