Today I am logging is a 0.2 pound gain. Not what I wanted, of course. I have learned one more time what I have known for years - one blow out meal a week wipes out the progress of the whole week.

I was making good progress with my weight loss this week on target for a 1.6 loss as of last Wednesday. On Thursday I indulged in a Tim Horton's chocolate donut and a muffin. Otherwise the day was good. Those two items are very high in calories! Together they are 580 calories. I looked it up. And the result?? a modest gain instead of a maybe two pound loss. Moral of the story - once a week blow outs are detrimental to over all weight loss.

The good news for me is that my tenants who I evicted have left only one day late. They have left the place in relatively decent condition - will need a thorough clean and a bit of touch up paint. Damages are of the wear and tear variety so not bad. The only crazy thing was they removed the theromostat?? I am expecting that I will be returning as much as two thirds of their damage deposit.

It is always disappointing to spoil a whole week with one indulgence, but I'm betting that weight loss will show up this week. Good riddance of the tenants, but why in the world take a thermostat? Perhaps to sell it? Strange.

Years ago I had a new bedroom set delivered and the movers "caught" the furniture on the thermostat and ripped it off the wall. It couldn't be reattached I had to have the HVAC company put in a new one. It is likely this is what happened to yours. If someone wanted to vandalize / damage your property it would probably be something like clogging up the toilets intentionally. ! You always figure out what went wrong on your weigh ins and always get back on track !

That crazy thermostat! What I am thinking is this...my tenant is in jail and her 19 year old daughter moved everything out. The daughter contacted me about a variety of electronics that were put in - cameras and wifi-wanting to know if they were mine. They weren't. I think that she thought it was a control for the cameras! My sister taught her and thought that was a plausible explanation! My granddaughter and I figured out how to put the new thermostat in last night. I had been told by one of my maintenance fellows that it was easy to do just two wires and very low voltage. He was right, it was easy enough. My heating system is not complicated as it is just a furnace and nothing else.
