HONK, HONK, HONK ~ I pray that everyone understands each and everyone of us has our own place in this formation and we as the flock need to love ourself, others and especially the ones who have fallen out of formation from either weariness or struggle even if we don't understand their journey as we glide into the winds of change.

For Peeps Sake - my favorite little miracle last year.

I needed to release my habit, my tie to the sugary foods. So ceremoniously I took my Marshmallow Peeps to the Ocean. I released them into the waves as I stood on shore watching. Contrary to what I thought would happen they DIDN'T float away until they were little yellow dots on the horizon. The ocean kept throwing those five little peeps back at me as if Mother Nature was saying she would not accept high fructose corn syrup, (sugar) and yellow die number 2 in her diet. I watched the Ocean pull them in and then spit them back to me for a very long time. Slowly the sugar eroded off the 5 yellow peeps but they always came back to me. I decided I needed to pick them up and eat them. That was a funny thought that crossed my mind but I knew I was ready to really give up my habit of eating empty calories to excess. After 30 minutes of this I tossed those sticky yellow chunks of candy very far into the ocean but to my dismay they still came back.

A Seagull appeared dangerously close while circling around me and my peeps. Our eyes locked upon each other. Truly I was afraid not for my peeps but for me. He swooped down and just as I thought he was going to grab one of my eroding marshmallow vices he flew away without a second thought. The peeps were not even desireable to a scavanger bird. The process took longer then I had ever imagined it would but I had a lot of time to think about what it means to choose healthier and to never mindlessly eat sugar. There will be no more sugar comma's for me! Mother Nature made the point very well to me last May.

Almost one year after this event I can say I have done better with my sugar addiction but still have times when I struggle with the temptation but am grateful that I have learned so much and it is true that the best gift you can give to another is making your own life work! To all my Peeps have a beautiful Easter Sunday and I am grateful for your support and friendship. With Love, Lisa TOWANDA!!

Hi Lisa, I loved the story of how you could give up those peeps. I don't think I could eat after they had been in the sea either. I will never look at a peep in the same way ever, you made me smile. Thanks!!!!!...... Have a great Easter.......Bren

Its the honky tonk sister!!! Happy Easter buddy! We are all here for the same reason but the journey may be different. We may have different challenges but what counts is that we all invision ourselves in the other buddies shoes so to speak and give ideas to coax them in the right direction on their own but with our support and understanding. It was hard to rid of my sugar addiction.... Actually it still lurks every time that first bite of moms sweets enters my mouth.... Its like a sensual sexual feeling with a touch of lust at first which makes me settled for a few minutes until the sugar in me asks for more sugar until a box of orea cookies is gone or I have eaten half of moms cake or biscuits!!! Life has its ups and downs... this journey does not stop when you have lost the weight and it does not end even several years after you have maintained your weight. with consistency and persistance one can model new habits permanently to make a stepping stone to future ease of weight management and body composition improvements. :)
