Still not back into the groove and exercising as much as I should be. Maintaining is good, and that is what I did in 2021 since having to reset my metabolism. That I lost 5 at all is a surprise but regretfully I put it back on as of late. 6-10 lbs. this year but keeping it off will be my long term goal. Good news is that I did keep those first 35 lbs. off that I lost in 2020.

Making goals, being accountable to FSF as well as learning where the calories come from really pays off. I started slipping into a little more sugar in my coffee, using margarine, ketchup and salad dressing lately. Little things add up and skipping a 10 minute HIIT session of 80 burn calories. So maybe that is all I will change and see what happens. Truthfully, I am afraid of sending my body back into shock by a 1200 calorie regime and more exercise. I know that I ate healthy and I don't know how others eat as they do.(1700 calorie, sedentary calculation to maintain)

So now I eat 1700 , walk an hour and 30 minutes of HIIT. (3 X 10 min.) to maintain. That is almost 500 calories I no longer burn. I want to walk and exercise for health, but those calories used to go to weight loss.

Does the body have a mind of its own and know the perfect weight for itself?

yes the body finds homeostasis but if you lose weight and maintain your body will adjust and make that weight it's homeostasis so long as it's a healthy place for it to be.

Not sure my body knows that much unless my ideal weight is obese something

so that's the thing. you can still gain more weight like say 100lbs but then your body might only want to keep 80lbs for a while. you can still go up or down but for a time period loke a few months your body will get comfortable at a certain place but as soon as you change your eating your body will change too it just takes consistency

Thank you for your respoonse Ashelyo65 and I did look into this :honeostasis: you referred to. I do believe in positive thinking which is why I quit smoking so easily and tell others that they can too. Yet I went above and beyond in my belief that my regiment the past January of 3021 would result in a resounding loss, not a minimum despite my expectations. I guess mind and body must agree ! I think my body overruled the mind in that I exercised too much thus causing anxiety. I know I ate a healthy and hearty 1200 calories without remorse or a feeling of deprivation. I think I might just leave as is at 140 from 177 and see what my body feels is right. Slightly shaving off calories over the next year if need be. I feel good and eat healthy which is most important to me and my body too as it seems.....
