I lost this week which is way more amazing than it should be. I truly ate substantially too high calories for 6/7 days this week. In that light 0.8 pound loss is a win!

I find when I have had days of eating too much that I can't seem to dial it right back to normal- it is like I have to inch my way back to normal. If I only blow out for one day I do just fine going immediately back to normal but 2-3 days and it is incremental pulling back!

My stats for the second half of this year are disappointing. I had a net gain of 4 pounds over the last month. This resulted in a 4.4 gain over the last 6 months. I logged in net gains 3 months out of 6 months. Truly it is all about the gains in the end. If a person just loses or stays the same then there are losses however losing and gaining often result in very little progress. What has saved me over the year is that I lost 17.6 pounds in the first 6 months. However 12.4 pounds down in a year is not what I expect of myself - that is merely one pound per month! Urrgh! To think that I managed to gain 8 pounds in 4 days over Christmas. In just those 4 days I wiped out so much weightloss work.

New day, new month, new year...I will dig down and see if I can get at least 20-25 pounds off this year. That will likely bring me close to goal. That is an ambitious goal as in 2020 I lost 16.2 and in 2021 I lost 12.4 (in 2019 I lost 49.8). Guess I will just go at it and see if I can pull it off! If not, it will take me two years. Can be done.

This week has been incredibly cold -36C (-32F) and so not much has got done outside. Today is a bit warmer so I am planning to haul water and get my snowshoes out. We'll see if I can get my truck running!

My father-in-law bought me a car for Christmas and I got it Wednesday. Very kind and generous of him. So I got snow tires put on it yesterday and generally did a bunch of driving chores. Pretty snazzy!

My granddaughter has spent the last week with me doing homework. She heads home today. She may be back next week as she isn't quite finished and school has been delayed a week due to Covid.

Happy New Year to all. May 2022 bring you health and happiness!

Happy new year, carol! I hope you have a wonderful one going forward. You are an amazing lady! Stay warm and safe. My nephew made it down from Calgary for Christmas. He was glad to be out of the horrid freeze there, which was not even as bad as further north where you are. We are just a few degrees below 0 C here... Sauna temps compared to yours!

Melissatwa- it has been freezing cold here. 0C sounds like a dream except the driving is treacherous at those temperatures as it can get pretty icy and freezing rain...! I like about -10C in winter and then 10C or more. Ideal temperature for me is 25C. Glad you got to spend time with your nephew.
