59Carol's Journal, 11 Sep 21

Today I am logging in a gain and quite frankly I am thrilled on a number of fronts! First of all, I was in the city for the past 4 days which means eating out.

I really enjoy eating a wide variety of foods but that means it is hard to guesstimate calories as I am unfamilar with the dishes. My friend and I did a lot of splitting meals keeping the portions smaller which certainly helped as I am a clean my plate sort of girl. I didn't go to bed any night with an overfull stomach so that was a plus.

Yesterday was my first weigh in after getting home - 7 pounds up! My goodness crazy how quickly that can happen. I immediately went back to my old patterns yesterday and dropped 2.6 pounds. So when the dust has cleared this morning I have gained 4.6 pounds. I had already gained two pounds before I left for the city so the city experience is actually 2.6 pounds.

I will be eating normally today. Then tomorrow is my daughter's birthday so supper will be more decadent than usual. After that ordinary days ahead! I am confident that I will drop this weight and will eventually enter the 150s.

My house project continues. Stucco is a slow process - slower than I realized! There is a lot of underpinnings being done - sealing and hanging wire mesh. I am looking forward to the end result and trying hard not to be impatient! There is a little more wire to go up and then the one house peak. After that it is ready for the scratch coats.

On my way to the city, I stopped to meet the kitty I plan to bring home. She is a beautiful cat! She seems to have a good temperment and is affectionate. I pick her up end of next month. I am pretty excited.

Last weekend, my daughter found a dog that suits her. She is pretty excited. I will meet Burly tomorrow. It is a Kelpie dog. She is intelligent and eager to learn. She sounds like a sweetheart.
