59Carol's Journal, 22 Aug 21

As of this morning it looks like the damage since last week is around 5 pounds. I am hopeful that as I return to eating 'normally' that I will drop back down.

While I was gone I chose to eat wildly off the food plan that I have been following for more than a year. I ended up with a very unhappy belly. I had tastes in my mouth that indicated that the food had been much richer than I am used to. I immediately returned to more of what I was used to and the belly was happier. Since I didn't completely return to my habits I continued to gain weight. I have learned that a 'clean' diet followed by a 'dirty' diet has strong ramifications!

The trip to Victoria with my grandson was lovely. My son and daughter-in-law are amazing hosts. We did some e-biking, some hiking, a float tank, a trip to a nearby island to visit a former colleague and the list goes on. Very fun!

Unfortunately the trip back was its own kind of crazy and then ended with the piece de resistance -- my luggage is lost. I was hoping to have heard by now that it was found but that hasn't happened yet.

While I was gone the fellows continued to get lots done at my place. I am so pleased with everything they have done.
79.6 kg Lost so far: 42.2 kg.    Still to go: 2.4 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

Sounds like such a lovely trip, and, if your luggage must be lost, better on the way home than on the way over. Surely they'll locate and return it soon. A gain of five pounds should be gone shortly, I'm betting it isn't all a true weight gain.

Thanks Shirfleur for your vote of confidence. My suitcase was delivered yesterday morning. All was intact. I agree much better if lost on the way home.
