Swings roundabouts... I look at my ethic and attention on my diary, and find it difficult to see a gain :( I am tracking pretty much everything. I don't know if anyone else finds there are bumps up and down when you are restrictive?? I look at some peeps progress chart, and they are restricting but seem to main a steady regular decrease.. I shall measure tomorrow and see if the vitals are better!! That's the only thing to keep you sane at times. I track these and see if tone is improving then I can live with the hesitation on the needle.

Have you considered getting your BMR or RMR tested? You may find something like Google Fit more accurate to measure your exercise calories. I would recommend just turning on automatic tracking and not entering anything else. It can also connect to fatsecret and update your exercise calories automatically. It does not look like you're consistently weighing yourself either so it'll be harder to see short term trends.

Thanks guys .. its strange to be up. As activities are increased dramatically although I take your point on accuracy of actual K burn, the fact is I have allowed for that by cutting the intake way down from RDI, and I'm super careful on intake. So I know the count on that is accurate. Don't think I'll ever use a fitbit, seems to close to an electronic ankle bracelet... but I would hope with a big enough deficit it allows for inaccuracies to some degree!

THanks RideMariel, I think you have a point ... I'll go up a bit and see if I can cut the allowances I usually give myself for the Weekends!!! Maybe, a more uniform approach will equate to a little more consistency in outcomes LOL

I can go up or down 5 pounds in a day easy. If I eat thicker foods like chick pea pasta or brown and wild rice I notice a gain the next day. If I eat quinoa and pumpkin seeds I usually go down. Sometimes exercise throws a monkey wrench in my plans and I gain weight from muscle mass. As long as you're trending down it's nothing to worry about. If you start trending up then it's time to consider cutting out cheat days or trying a different routine.

Trouty .. you talk sense! I'm hoping that the range of jumping around, whether its up or down a couple lbs that generally the start and end of the range is decreasing over the course of the weeks. Certainly, I have no idea about muscle gain, and I am building in lots more activity and sport as I go on, so maybe some of it could be down to that. Does anyone know what kind of amount of muscle weight you can gain over a month? I have never paid attention to that type of thing. My clothes are loser, and going by that I don't think its a crisis .... yet!!
