Just came back from vacation. Was on a cruise. Did more exercise than I have in the past 2 1/2 yrs. Would use the stairs most times instead of the elevator, walked lots & didn't eat as much as I have before on cruises & was really expecting to have lost some weight. (not that I ate healthily all the time)However the scale when I came home read the same as when I had left.
So today is Day 1 (how many day 1's have I had since I joined this site???, too many I'm sure)
I am going to try following the GI diet, which I had success with some years ago. I'll work at increasing my water intake. No Crystal Light ice tea, as I have read that aspartame can increase cravings. To hopefully decrease my need for chocolate, I have bought some milk & dark Lindt Chocolate balls. Lindt chocolate is not a favourite of mine, & I am going to allow myself one ball a day, if I really need it. My husband also wants to lose some weight, so we will be each other's moral support.
Yesterday I made a big pot of Cabbage soup with all green light vegetables. I roasted a chicken & made enough salad fixings to last a few days. 10 am I had 4 ozs unsweetened orange juice. I did 5 mins on our Elliptical machine (at the lowest possible ranges) with 1 pause during it. Then 40 mins on our treadmill at incline 3 & speed 2.5 mph. Then I did some stretches for 15 mins. Remembering to drink water. My goal is to give an hour to exercising each morning before anything else, ie laundry, computer, housecleaning Noon 1 large bowl of cabbage soup & water to drink 2pm A small apple 4pm A 50 cal Raspberry Greek yogourt. 6pm Lge salad of lettuce, spinach, cucumber, celery, mushrooms, radishes,red bell pepper & h/made dressing (didn't like) oil, rice vinegar, mustard, honey, spices 1c Steamed Broccoli 1/2 hard boiled egg 1 leg & thigh of roast chicken with skin (couldn't give the skin with all the seasonings up!)
